Zimbabwe experienced hyperinflation due to terrible monetary policy under Mugabe. In short, shit fucked up and now the currency is worthless. (Well, it's not in use now in favor of the USD and other currencies, but still.)
This is more ridiculous than the hyperinflation in Germany during the Weimar republic, second only to the crash in Hungary in 1946. You still get people carrying bags and buckets of bills in wrappings, but this time they're labelled in the quadrillions. They experienced inflation to the extent of ~231,000,000% in July 2008 (where 50+%/month is considered hyperinflation by Caber's definition).
