Well here it is Friday and I am just getting around to posting some pictures. In my defense I have been recouperating the last day or so.
I found out that my mother is a hmm...least offensive term....Park Nazi (think seinfeld soup nazi)
She is very methodical and lets do this right now, and only now kind of person....very much not fun to be with when you just want to enjoy the day.
She god bless her, has scoliosis very badly and more than a 30 degree curve in her spine. We rented her a wheel chair to make it through the parks. She does not play well with others.
The first park we went to was Universal Studios. Amazingly enough in January when the Super Bowl was on, there was a commercial for Universal Studios that offered free tickets for the first 100,000 people who entered online.
Our family got five. This is almost unheard of in our family. So we were set as far as tickets go, and the other people got a discount on their tickets. James got a year pass for 99 bucks.
Anyway here are some pictures...
James by the pool at the rental house.
One of the cars we rented was a HUGE Mercury and for some reason we thought we could squeeze all seven of us into it so we only had to pay one parking fee, this was hillarious.
James infront of the Universal sign.
My grandmother tromping it down the isle at Universal City Walk to meet up with us.
Mom and Dad....tromping it.
James at Shrek. This was the first ride we did at Universal. Unfortunately this is where my pics at Universal end. I have to get the others from my fam...I will have more later.
So we took a days break inbetween Universal and Disney and believe me it was much needed. We were at Universal for about 10 hours all together and it was the HOTTEST day of the week. I mean BALAZING HOTNESS. I could literally wring out my pony tail. (Yea I know...gross.)
Then after all that Jazz it was DISNEY DAY!!!!!
We have a family friend that works for Disney and he was able to hook James up with a visit backstage with the cast of the Star Wars Jedi Training Show.
MAGIC KINGDOM HERE WE COME! (well us and about 500 thousand other folks.)
Granny, it was her 8th trip to Disney I think....
Even so she was just as excited or maybe even more so than many of the children there.
Inside Disney Hollywood...James loved the huge magic hat!
in line at the Star Wars ride...
Is that too cool or what?
James was a tad bit excited.
James was the first Padawan chosen.
James with his saber. I took a lot of video during this part...but I will have to upload that at home.
James accepting a signed light saber from Darth Vader...The guy in the long sleeved shirt is our family friend Parker.
James with the cast
Family with the cast Left to right Mom, Lori, Granny, Adrianne, James, Me, Dad.
This made me think of Nadine...and I smiled and of course had to take a picture of it.
James in Honey I Shrunk the Kids
James at the Magic Kingdom (FINALLY)
James with Pluto, the only castmember we were able to get a picture with.
James infront of Cinderella's castle.
JAMES WITH HIS EARS! (notice he chose the ears with the magic hat on top!)
The troop troopering on.
We got to Disney Hollywood at 10 am, it is now 5:00 and we had not been allowed to stop for food. We were allowed a half of a peanut butter sandwich just after the Star Wars gig. I rebelled and got three drinks for the seven of us to share at that time.....we were friggin STARVING not to mention that Adrianne and Dad are both diabetic. I finally put my foot down with my mother and told her that we WERE GETTING SOMETHING TO EAT!
So...
James and his hamburger. May I just say that the chips at Disney are like the best chips I have ever eaten in my life.
James and Adrianne
I just thought this was too cute.
Ok that is all for now. I will do another one later. I need to get Dad's pics together and on my usb drive... |
