James had pitch, hit and run yesterday. He hit the ball 117 feet (39 yards) (35.6 meters). I think this is rather good for a 9 year old. It was actually a bit farther but they subtract the distance away from the center line. Really he it the ball around 127 feet.
That is what we did yesterday. Then James stayed with is ball team to watch the game and one of his coaches brought him home.

Meanwhile back at the ranch Mike and I planted flowers. My front porch used to have these nasty short pine shrubs.. much like this one that had gotten out of control
So we tore those out of the ground last weekend and also took down an lilac bush that had overgrown the side of my house and made it look like it was about 6' shorter.
Neither of those are pics of mine, but there for a reference...
Now yesterday we got things started....
