many people only allow friends to view their diaries. Some of us have been here for 7 years and have many friends, but there are also many fake users and other things we'd like to keep out, too. For me, most of my entries go private (so only I can see them) after a couple of weeks, I just like my privacy. If you want to reply to a comment, when you click [reply] it will post your reply right below theirs in your entry, and they will receive a notification that you have responded to their comment in your entry. Welcome, we're not all haters (:
