alright, so I have pretty much officially started the 999 challenge. that's where you read 9 books in 9 categories by the end of this year. if you can, read them by 9/9/09. 81 books altogether. No problem. *problem* I don't know about these categories. they don't give you any to choose from you just kinda pick your own. my problem is that i prefer one category. Fantasy. we thought that maybe i could use fantasy and 9 different authors but i don't know. i sent an email (you have to in order to get permission) but i asked a bunch of questions. some categories were like nobel prize winners, historical fiction, to things like "my sister wants me to read" and such. is that a category? cause if so i can do this lol. i have already picked 5 categories. it got late and i got tired before i could finish. so far i have young adult, harry potter, robert e feist, western fiction, and childhood faves. i'm gonna go back and put historical fiction or romance not sure which. probably romance. and then try to think of 3 more based on the books i have. i wish they would hurry up and email me back though answering my questions so i don't go thru all this and then find out that it's not what they want. i don't see what it matters really as long as your reading and read the 81 books. i also saw something where they were talking about a 9 book overlap so instead of 81 books you only read 72. i assume they allow for 9 books that might fit in two different categories? not sure. not worried about that though. i've already read 17 books this year so far. but i think i'm gonna start over because i'd kinda like to record the day i start and finish so i can see how long it took and what not. considering i didn't know about the challenge until now it's kinda not fair. i don't know we will see. lol. that's all for now.

well if they actually answer your questions that'd be neat. but you don't have to get approval for your catagories. it's whatever the heck you want. it's just a challenge for fun. nikki has a catagory that's books friends/family have loaned her or want her to read. something like that. it's seriously whatever you want. but yeah nikki and i got the same exact email invitation for joining... so don't hold your breath getting answers. but if all you're asking is if your catagories are ok then you don't need an answer since it's whatever YOU want. *shrug* and i'm guessing you don't even have to join their blog to do the challenege. but by doing so, you get put on their list of contributors at the bottom right of the blog page. and you can write about the books you read now and then should you choose to. which is mostly what that blog is heh.
