Rub rub...

I fell asleep within minutes of writing this entry! ... Which is why I'm posting it this morninggggguuuhh.
...

Restless leg syndrome. It's a side-effect of one of my medications and oh boy is it driving me nuts. Tonight and last night I've been unable to sleep because my left leg has been rubbing like mad, causing my right leg to strain and now my hip, knee and ankle joints ache, as well as the muscles in that leg (including the muscles in my right ass cheek and lower back). Tossing and turning constantly trying to find a position where my right leg can relax. And the most amazing thing is that Luke sleeps through this whole drama night after night. He sprawls over the entire bed so I'm always moving his limbs or flipping him over and he's dead to the world through it all. I'm so thankful about that because my ex boyfriend would yell at me for rubbing my legs and it hurt more to try to keep them still than to let them rub.

Luke's crush on Giovanni is hilarious. He's always trying to bed him, and Giovanni's like 'nuh' every time. Lol. It never gets old. He doesn't know the meaning of the word 'subtle'. We have threesomes sometimes, though. But I don't think Luke is used to not getting what he wants because he gets so offended when he rejects him - even though it's been going on for months. Doesn't help that Giovanni knows he wants it and will tease him about it. It's the best thing to watch.

I used to think I had RLS, as well. My exboyfriend would make fun of me. Looking back, I think I was an insomniac which caused me to toss and turn at night time, or maybe I just had a really shitty and inconsistent sleep schedule. Or, it may have been related to the dampness of the basement in my exboyfriend's house. Either way, RLS isn't a part of my life anymore. I hope it improves :]

Two words: Tonic water. It's the only thing that's let me sleep, ever. At one point my doctor even gave me a prescription for quinine (what makes the water tonic-y), but that's even grosser than it sounds. Tonic water, with a squirt of lemon juice to make it bearable. Trust me.

is this to stop the aching or the restlessness? I find putting a heavy pillow over my feet helps sometimes.
Tonic water, is that the same as soda water only more gross? Like is it very fizzy?

It is kinda like soda water, only more bitter. It's the "tonic" in gin and tonic, if it helps. You could ask a doctor for quinine in the bottle instead. I don't know what it does, calms the nerves or something, but it helps both the aching and restlessness. *grin* You drink it, you don't soak in it, just in case it was a question.

and about getting my dad to help - I'm thinking about it, he's just so wishy washy at times, one minute he might want to be bothered with it the next he might not - another quality we share.

about this entry: That restless leg syndrome you describe sounds BANANAS! I so don't trust medications just because of their side effects. So let me guess, you have to take yet a seperate MED to combat the RLS right? Medications suck ass though they come in handy in a lot of cases - so iffey about 'em.
