bipolar week + RIP Whitney

02/11/2012

(forgive me if I forgot something lol)

The rollercoaster continues

Where do I start?

It’s been a long week helped by an average of 4 hrs of sleep a night which makes for long days.
Last Sunday was the super bowl, it seems like it was 2 weeks ago now but it’s only been 6 long days.
That was defanately an amazing game which came down to the last second. Unfortunately, the Patriots lost. They played terrible, it was amazing they were in the game till the end.

I’m still trying to plan my trip to tx this May. I had not got my plane tickets.
Monday I found a good deal. To Dallas. 140 each way and it was direct flights plus it was jetblue, so they have tv-radeos on board. I had emailed Lisa, asking her to email me when she wasn’t busy. She emailed me back “I’m in math class! Will call when I can”
I called her or the following night, I didn’t want to lose the deal I had. She was making dinner but she talked anyways. I told her the times of the flight, she said it was perfect and I told her that I could come down on Thursday and she could pick me up and we could go right to the ranger’s game as my flight would get in about 11AM. Or, if you didn’t mind if I came on Wednesday, she cut in, I don’t mind at all. Come on down. Me: are you sure? Her, I’m sure.
So I jumped on the computer, the flights I saw the night before was still there. And I was a happy camper when my round trip came up to be $279 with all taxes and fees. I thought it was 140 one way without taxes and fees.

Wednesday was Stephanie’s birthday RIP
They had a nice candle vigil in 3 separate parts of MA at the same time. The vigil that was held at a football field near her mom’s house, where steph grew up, there was about 60 or so people where someone read a poem, her mom spoke, pleaded for change.
I didn’t go, I would have wanted to but had no one to take me. I read about it the following day in the news papers. In one of the articles I read, it stated that the defendant is given a new attorney. I don’t know what happened to the original one. So I don’t know what’s happened. I hope it doesn’t prolong the trial date any more. It’s frustrating.

Later on Wednesday I got an email from the Red Sox.
It said “congratulations you have been chosen” Because opening day game and Yankee games are the most sought after tickets in baseball, when scalpers get a hold of them, they turn them into a pretty penny. So to stop that, They have this special lottery where if you sign up, you get a chance to purchase tickets for either opening day or a yankee game but only 4 tickets per a transaction so it cuts down on scalped tickets..

When I got the email I screamed … I screatched like a little girl after a box of chocolate washed down by a 6 pack of redbull on Christmas morning  Then I was yelling as I was running down the stairs to my mom “I! GOT! IT! I! GOT! IT! OH MY GOD! MOMMY! I GOT IT!” lol my mom knew it had to do something to do with the red sox. I wanted to tell my twin but I had to wait a few hours till he got out of work and then I called him. He was excited. I also called my cousin Heidi, she goes to a lot of the games with me and she answered the phone by saying “this better be good news”
So I told her the news, she was very excited for me too. She said (knowing about Stephanie) “She’s looking down on you today Jonathan” 

There is a reason why this year truly is different from all the other years in red sox history.
Fenway Park, the baseball stadium where the Red sox play their home games, will be turning 100 and the “birthday” is on April 20th, 2012. The calendar was kind as it is a Friday night, plus the schedule makers were kind putting the Yankees on the schedule for that night. SO, that was the game I wanted.

Thursday, my boss had emailed me with some info. Saying “just in case I don’t remember, you can remind me” to tell the residents.
I replied that we had the peer specialist coming in at 4pm. She wrote back saying “good thing it’s my house, I can talk before”
And sure enough, when she started talking to the group, I opened the email, turned the comp to face her and tilt the screen back… lol she “Jonathan, you’re a savier”
It truly is the little things 

Friday
Lisa called me about 3 things. Her aunt’s brother (not an uncle, long story) has been going blind and her aunt posted on fb if anyone had any info on dealing with blindness. They live in FL. So of course Lisa thought of me and of course I had some info and. I told her that if I had a moment in my very busy life, I’ll do more research for her.
Another thing was money to spend for the trip. She is a college student and a mother. So she cant spend lots of money but is going to start saving now.
We’re driving to Houston, going to a game, and getting a hotel room and hanging out with a friend of hers she had not seen in 15 years. I said the hotel will be about $50-70 so that’s 25-35 a person and the tickets will be I don’t know, $20? So the only expensive thing will be the gas money. We can pack a cooler with drinks and snacks to and from.
OK, now her BF has lived in TX for most of his life. He said from Dallas to Houston is a 6 hr ride. Something in me said that, that didn’t sound right, but I took his word.
Another thing was she asked if I could bring a box of clothes down to her. John’s (my best friend) baby clothes don’t fit him anymore since he’s 3.5 and Lisa’s baby is 1.5. I said no problem. She said that since her step father works at the airport, he can meet me there and I’d take it on the plane with me and she would get it on the other side. I told her no problem. 

Then she kept talking lol I love her. She told me about school and about how her baby is doing and about the new dog’s interaction with the baby. We also talked about John and his family. She had me on the phone for about an hour.

When I got off the phone I did some research.
Her mom was right, Jetblue you can check one bag for free.
I c-p the jetblue info to an email.
Then I did research about services for the blind in fl.
I found her 3 links to send on to her aunt.
I then went to mapquest to see how far her little town was from Houston.
I must have seen it somewhere or mentally did the math in my head without really knowing. I was pin-point correct. Here was that part of the actual email.

“Ok, I know that I know NOTHING about texas and even less about driving.
However, I would love to know how it took Matt 6 hrs to get to Houston?
According to both google and mapquest, it's about 240 miles from your little town to Houston, which if you average 60 MPH a 3rd grader knows that would only be 4hrs.

Then again, we're talking about the same guy that took 2hrs to get home from a game that should have only taken 45 mins

Saturday… RED SOX TICKET DAY!

Ok, my dad was on his computer and logged in. He was in the virtual waiting room for about hmm probably 5 mins but it seemed like forever!

So my father is reading each question out loud (and he reads slow) and types in all the info. (he is a 2 finger typer) so when he got all the info in, he clicked “continued” and read “sorry, the screen timed out” my heart went from about to burst with excitement to felt like it was thrown to the grown and stomped on.
He called for my mom to come up stairs. He goes “I don’t know how anyone can do it any father than I did?” my mom typed in all the info without saying anything and she types properly. She probably got it complete in about 30 seconds. So my mom said “you got them” and got up and went back down stairs.
I thanked both my parents and then went down stairs and called Justin. He was very excited for me.
I posted it on fb as well.

I got the exact ticket I wanted too. 4 Center field bleachers and they were really close too, 7th row! So excited!

"and IIIIIIII will alwaaaaaaaays love youuuuuu"

Today, February 11, 2012, one of my mom's top 3 fav singers of all time, Whitney Houston passed away today.
I am heart broken for my mom. Whitney was only 48 years old.

I remember growing up, on clean the house days, my mom would have Whitney on and have it on repete. I remember sitting in my mom's caravan when I was a kid, picking up a casset tape, and it saying "whitney" across the top with a pic of her with a headband on. My mom cried. I was just shocked when she told me the news. I can't believe it.

My mom blames Bobbie brown. I guess that's a good chunk of the problem, especially if they find she has died due to an Drug OD as he was the one who got her into drugs.

I will be sad when I hear her music but my mom will no doubt, shed a teer when ever she hears her voice.

RIP Whitney Houston
