HELLO TEXAS! Hello 110 degrees!

07/29/2011

This took me forever to write, deal with all the English mistakes or dont read it lol.

Wed night... half hour of sleep. too excited

Boston 7:10 AM EST to stl 3 hr layover dallas 2;30 CST
It was 104 degrees out and I was sweating my balls off... what? we're in the garage?
Jonathan has never experienced 104 degrees before...until now. Walking into the sun felt like i went from a sonner to an oven.
So Lisa picked me up. that's my best friend's sister with her 10 month old baby Devin. Her fb Matt (all intention perpose, they're married lol) was home when we got there.

I brought gifts "awww but you didnt have to"
I handed Lisa a bag, told her one was for her the other things were for Devin.
She pulled out a Red Sox beach towell. "awww this is awesome. it is much better than my girly pink and flowery towell I use." I laughed, she is not the type who would have a feminim towell. "This is great, it matches Devin's towell"

Then she pullls out a MICKEY MOUSE surving plate, where the face and the ears are 3 different conpartments. Then a simular one which is a dish and at Matt put it "Hey look, your very first big boy fork and spoon" they had MICKEY on the handles. So again Lisa said "you didnt have to, this is too cute" I said, and there should be a a few pieces of paper in the bag too. She pulls out 3 sheats from my printer. They were discounts to restaurants from restaurant.com

Matt's sister and mother came by to pick up Devin and then we were on our way to the Texas Rangers and Minasota Twin's game.

It was funny, they were arguing about which way to go. Lisa had her trusty GPS and Matt had lived in the area for most of his life.

There was trafic caused by an accident that narrowed 4 lines to 1. Lisa said "see, if you would have went my way we would have avoided this" um, no, because her way would lead to this road too. So we got to the game were pulling into the parking lott when the first pitch was thrown.

Lisa had to go to the bathroom then we were all starving so Lisa and I wetn for the food while Matt went and sat down. We got hotdog and Lisa wanted garlic fries so we got them too. She loved me having my cain, everyone went around us.

We had bleacher seats, and they were real bleachers, unlike Boston which had chairs. We had seventh row but because the place was only about half filled, with some seconds having no people, we were able to sit in the 2nd row behind the bullpen. It was great.

It was also Hot.
(you know how I love numbers... right?)
In my memory bank, the hottest game I ever been to was 99 degrees. It was on Nomar's b day when he hit 3 home runs... I went with my mom's friend Rona and a couple of her friends.Anywho, this beat the record, it was 102 degrees at the start of the game... at 7PM.

The hotdog was discusting, the funnal bread? that's what Lisa called it. was dry and the garlic fries was actually too garlicky, and I love garlic but they were also soggy too. I give the food an F.
The Texas Rangers are in first place. They have a great team with some superstars but yet the place was only half filled. They didnt cheer as loud as they could. I give the fans a C.
Although they do allow small coolers with non-alcohol plastic containers, so we brought our own waters and gatoraides.
So the seats were good and my company was really fun.

Lisa had got some mustard on her shirt, so she went to the lady's room to wash it off. She came back and told me that she took her shirt off in the woman's room to wash it off and 4 women gave her dirty looks. She said what? we're in a woman's room. she said to me, it wasn't like I wasnt wearing a bra. lol gotta love Lisa.
A kid in the first row had purposely dropped a bottle of water into the bull pen and Lisa thought this was funny. (why I dont know) And the mother turned around and said something like "THATS NOT FUNNY" and lisa said no, no it's not funny... as she was laughing.

Eh, she matured since I went to a game with her at fenway park about 10 years ago when she mooned the entire stadium.... or as she said, she wanted to show off her butterfly tatoo on her ass.

The game itself was good. It was a pitching battle. I think the final was 3-1.

We left the park and for no good reason that we could get out of Matt, it took us 2 hrs to get home, should have only been 45 at most since it was late night. I think Macho Matt missed an exit and didnt want to admit it.

Friday... we didnt do much, shopping at a super wallmart for the first time was probably the highlight of the day. Actually, seriously, it was this spicy spaghetti sauce she makes. it's heaven. it was awesome. She also made me a nice big salad, she knows now how much I love salad. and she also baked some biskets ... a nice touch to the dinner.

Saturday
Matt works 6 days a week, he had taken Friday off, called in sick, he was just so tired from getting home at midnight, getting to work at 7AM wasnt going to work. So when I opened my bedroom door and I heard him say good morning to me as he was walking into the laundry room my reply was "what are you doing here?" He laughed and said "I live here" Lisa told me later that he always feels funny about calling out for just one day. So he calls out for two.

Had homemade muffins for breakfast
Had hotdogs and stake fries (my fav type) for lunch
Baby Devin was being a bit cranky... he had a stomach ache.
Texas Rangers were playing an afternoon game so I was being entertained with that.
Devin was staying at Matt's sister's house for the night as the game would get over late. So he drove him over about 3pm.
Lisa had made us Militia shirts. We bought white t-shirts at Walmart, went to an art store and got iron on things you can put in a printer. So across the front was milita and on the back was my sister's nickname and her number. She was so proud of it. She says that she is not one for creativity so this was extra special that she was able to figure this out.

At some point Matt went to the licker store for a few things, picked me up some vodka.
So when Matt left with the baby, Lisa convinced me to have a "pregame drink".
She made me sprite and vodka in this good size glass cup.
Lisa was being extra silly, she was definately buzzing off what ever she was drinking. She was talking about some of the cute girls on the team and about maybe getting a little action herself with one of them. She said, if we go to the after party and we meet a hot chick, we need a code word. She said her code word would be grapes. "so if you hear me say, I like grapes in my drink, you know that means I'm planning on going back to the chick's room. You and Matt will have to pick me up tomorrow." "So what's your code word?" I had no idea ... I never played this game. "bon jovi?" "NO! that is so gay" me..."I dont know, I never found myself in that situation." She said "it has to be something that you could just slide into a conversation without sounding out of place." I laughed, feeling good on my vodka. "baseball? I dont know. Anything I think of I would say in normal conversation." Lisa was laughing too at this point "no, how about, like if we go to a bar that has music, you can ask if anyone is dancing. Dancing will be your code word." we both laughed. So I said "So if I say, hey, I am going to go get a lapdance, you know what I am really getting." she laughed while saying "NOOOOO" and we both laughed.

She kept saying she had to go take a shower but all she did was talk. lol At one point I said "lisa" "yes?" "I do this to my boss when she needs to leave and is telling me things to do that I already know. Lisa, go take a shower." but..." Lisa, go take a shower" "alright alright I'm going"
She went to go smoke first, I said "that's not the shower" "I need a smoke first" "you can do that after" "I can do it then too" I went to go write on my FB.
"pre-game
Bonding with Lisa and a bottle of vodka"

Soon after Matt got home we left, headed to my sister's football game.
I called Staci, amanda's gf, to see where she was. She told me 50 yard line. So we headed there and with introductions aside, it was time for some football!

Coming into the game, the Boston Militia averaged 39 points a game while average giving up 23 points a game. San Diego Surge who were undefeated, averaged 55 points and gave up an average of 7 points a game. I had a little doubt but I was confidents.

It was 100 degrees at game time (7pm)
Matt gave me an awesome play-by-play, with formations and a lot of football terminology I didnt know.

At the end of the first quarter it was 20 - 0 Boston
End of the half 20-6 Boston

Some point in the 3rd quarter, Matt went to get something to eat so Lisa took over the play-by-play. I knew this was going to be interesting...

"so the cute girl with the pink and purple shoes gives it to a blond girl who is going, she's still going. OH MY GOD THERE'S A CAT FIGHT!"

I start laughing my ass off and Staci turns around and gives Lisa a dirty look. (Lisa told me later) and she just said "a cat fight?"

and so that was the type of play calling I had to endure for about 10 minutes. I found it quite entertaining. Every once in a while the girl sitting next to Staci would correct lisa but then would just say "no, you are doing a good job, I am just correcting you when you are way off."

Eventually Matt got back into the comintator's booth to finish the game for me. It wasn't as colorful but it was good. Lisa still put her two cents in every once in a while.

The 3rd quarter ended 27-13
Final BOS 34 SD 19

Lisa and I ran down to the field level and were heading onto the field. Lisa was saying "are we going to get in trouble for this?" no Lisa "We wont get arrested?" no Lisa, I did this last year. "are you surrrrrre?" yes lisa. I must admit, I had teers. I was so happy for my sister and proud of her.
We got onto the field and the team was running to the locker room. Lisa said that she didnt see Amanda. Then out of no where amanda ran over to us, gave us quick hugs I wanted a picture of us and Lisa handed her camera to someone and Amanda was in the middle with me on her left and Lisa on her right then she was off. She had to go take a team photo.

There was an after party at the hotel but it was already 11pm, it was an hour back to their house and they were up early that morning with the baby. So when we got back, amanda had called me asked where we were. I told her that we were at the house, she was disapointed but understood. She said that maybe we can hang out monday before her flight.

Sunday, nothing, it was 104 and we were tired and didnt feel like doing anything.

Monday aug first
"getting out of the house"
We went to the comunity pool. It was nice. The pool was 4.5 feet and it was an olympic size pool so plenty of room for all to swim around. I swam some, mostly under water, I do much better there. Always did. The baby was kicking and moving his arms as well when Lisa was holding him with out a floaty. I played catch with Devin for a bit in the water and played peakaboo, with me going under water. We stayed for about an hour although it only seemed like 20 minutes. The sun was hot, maybe 95 but the water was refreshing 80 degreesish not too cold and hot too hot.

We went back to the house and took showers. We drove to meet up with my sister and her gf and a few other friends before they had to catch their flight for home. Nothing overly exciting happened. We headed back, had for dinner Matt grilled stakes and grilled me a pepper. I had a salad and I dont know what else.
I was in for a treat on this night. Being 2000 miles away from hom, with the ranger's not playing, they had a traveling day, ESPN put the Red Sox Indians game on. So I got to watch my red sox. I was happy.

Tuesday, was simular to Monday, except she made her yummy pancakes, but we went to the pool in the morning, had apple bees for lunch, and since we had a late lunch, (we also went to the Market on the way home) Matt and I had burgers and fries for dinner. I guess usually isnt good at cooking. so when Matt was making the fries she asked him "how long have the fries been in" Matt: "I dont know." Lisa: and that's why I dont let you in the kitchen." Matt: "it was probably about 5 minutes" (a few minutes later) Lisa: do you know how long they've been in for?" Matt: "hmm about 5 minutes later than you asked me the last time" Lisa" you are going to burn the fries, you have no idea." He looks in the oven and says "a few more minutes and they'll be done." She does one of these "I cant believe you exagerated sighs" (lol) The fries came out good. The burger could have been cooked a little longer and the roles wasnt heated up at all, but, over all, I would give Matt a B. We watched the Rangers game then they watched something on the animal plannet or discovery channel... something that would have a show about sharks. I was curious and found it voring.

I thanked Matt for letting me stay and I would see him in a month (they are coming to Boston the beginning of September) and said my byes to Devin. He was tired and wanted nothing to do with me. And I tried to go to sleep.
Unfortunately, I didnt fall asleep till 2AM and I had to get up at 3:30 AM

Wednesday
Lisa woke me a bit late but we were in the car about 8 past 4. At 4:11 AM she says "it's 4:11 in the morning and it's 91 degrees" I just shook my head in disbelief.

She drove me to the airport, we hit a few snags along the way from a main highway having construction and another that lead us to the road that goes to the airport was shut down. She eventually found her way. We parked and she brought me to the window where they got me an escort and I said my byes and thanks to Lisa with a loving hug... I had a nice flight and then... I got back to Boston and my home.
