We had sex. He's married, I'm married. Hes my husbands best friend. I am his wifes best friend. Neither of our spouses know.
His wife asked if we ever did anything. All I told her is that he kissed me on the cheek. She confronted him. He denied anything. We got everything straightened out. She is still friends with me, talks with me, we are going to go running on sunday. He is stand offish. My heart is broken, I dont know if its broken because I cheated on my husband, or if its because this guy wants nothing to do with me, even though we had sex. I am a big girl and able to forget it ever happened. Why cant he. We were supposed to go do something today with our kids. He supposedly has the flu like his son had, and his son still has the flu and has had it since saturday. I dont know what to think. Heartbroken.

uh... well, maybe i don't know "love" like those other commentors, but shit happens. lust and love are 2 different things. and sometimes, when you're in lust--the heat of the moment, shit happens. Love has nothing to do with it. it sucks that you have this secret hanging around you when it's obviously bothering you.

I agree, sometimes 'shit happens', but you really should reevaluate your relationship none the less...

As for the other guy... If you told his wife that he kissed you (even on the cheek), you violated his trust with you. You got him into trouble, and left him with no doubt that under the right amount of pressure, you'd spill the rest, which would upset HIS life as well as yours. So he's probably avoiding you to keep suspicion to a minimum, as his wife is undoubtedly unsure who she should believe.

I agree with LN in that "shit happens", but also with Poetic Justice in that, nevertheless, you need to reevaluate your marriage. I don't understand cheating. I DO understand that shit happens and I do get falling out of love. Truly, I get that. But why cheat? If you're so NOT in the relationship that you're currently in (and by "in the relationship" I mean emotionally "in" it) enough to cheat on your spouse, what does that say about the marriage as a whole? I also don't believe the whole "once a cheater, always a cheater" bit, but I DO thing you need to figure things out before you end up hurting your spouse.

Yeah.. for one, you're a terrible wife. What if your husband had an affair with the mans wife that you had an affair with.. Probably terrible.. right?
