Wedding tips?

09/12/2012

So I figured I should give you all a quick run-down of who I am.

I had an online diary a couple years ago, and was crap at keeping up with it, so I'm going to try again! Other than what's on my frontpage...let's see... I'm almost 25 years old, a pretty 'normal' 25 year old woman I guess!! I'm a pretty introverted person; I like my time to myself and I'm not incredibly social. Other than my boyfriend, James, I have two best friends - Ashley and Beth. I feel like all I do is work, but I guess 40 hours a week really isn't 'ALL WORK', hah! I love my job and really want to move forward with it. I have always loved animals, and after a few random jobs after school, I'm so glad I'm now doing something I like. I grew up in West Virginia and still live here, though about two hours from where I grew up. I do want to see the world though, I can't wait to be able to travel all over!! My family is important to me, I see them and help them any chance I get. People tell me I have a huge heart, I like to think I'm just treating people how I want to be treated!! My boyfriend James works in a steel mill, it's hard work but I'm glad we are both working and trying to create our future together. We met in 2008 (while I was dating my ex) and we talked here and there, but other than bumping into each other with mutual friends, we didn't really hang out. After I broke up with my ex, I was out and about more often and we started hanging out. I was not planning on getting into a relationship anytime soon, but I fell head over heels for him!! I'd only been single for about 7 months when James and I started dating. We have spats like every couple, but we are so happy together! Our animals are our babies....for now. =) And on July 20th this year.....James proposed!!! We'd talked marriage before and were pretty certain that it was in our future, but he still wanted to surprise me, and he did! SO....now I am in the process of planning our wedding, so any of you married ladies (or guys!) out there have any tips for me?? What I know we want so far: a relatively small ceremony. We plan to invite just immediate family and a few close friends (Ash, Beth and James' best buddy Greg), then 'everyone' will be invited to the reception afterwards. We want an outdoors ceremony and reception, and I think we're going to do blue (like a slate blue) and very light gray as our color scheme. I know that probably sounds funny, but they look so good together! I think I may do burgundy accents! I have some invitations/announcements picked out, but other than that stuff....that's all I've got planned!! We haven't picked a date yet, it'll be next year sometime, probably in the summer, but I'm feeling a little lost and overwhelmed, I don't even know where to begin!! Even with a small ceremony, I feel like there's so many things to take care of, and I'm already worrying I'll forget something! James of course is telling me to plan the wedding however I want, as long as he doesn't have to wear anything silly, haha! So if any of you have any tips, I would gladly hear them!!

I'll try to update this more than my first go-round a couple years ago, lol. I only have internet at work, and get online on my break so hopefully I can keep up with it! Til next time!
