"You must do the thing you think you can not do." - Eleanor Roosevelt
So Chris brought a book from school yesterday called Black Out! It's all about different animals that live in the dark. One of the animals I read about was a Luna moth. Maybe you've seen one on the commercials for that Rx sleep aid, Lunesta?
Anyway - the books says that the Luna moth is one of the world's largest & only lives in North America. It has a wing span that's up to six inches wide & is only active at night, looking for other Luna moths. It only lives for a week & that's only so it can procreate. According to the book, it doesn't even eat.
So, this morning, Chris & I were waiting out front for the bus like always. After he left, I turned to go back in the house and VOILA! There it was. A Luna moth.
Damn, I thought. A perfect educational moment lost. Now, if I were my perfect, crunchy granola, snobby east coast cousin Debbi, I would've realized it was there, taken pics of Chris next to it and had a meaningful, educational conversation while referencing the book.
Well, anyway, here's the pic I took.
