Cadence, Hanna, Josh
You will love me You will love me you will love me YOU WILL LOVE ME
It’s frustrating can’t make someone love you even you say the mantra over and over and over and over again it’s not going to get you anywhere. Try as you might you still can’t make them. Even the little voice in hear head that says but. Nope sorry that’s not going to work. It’s hard to get though to Hanna sometimes. Cadence’s best friend, Hanna the star the heroin , and she crashes and falls and goes though boyfriends every other week trying to get over Josh. Who made it clear to her after Senior prom that he would never love her. Cadence was there to pick up the pieces. They knew that Josh was going to Wild Wood New Jersey so Cadence’s biological father is very wealthy and has of what used to be like the Spelling Manor but only bigger. Zoey her mother devoiced her father because he spent too much time at work and away. Cadence thinks that her mother and father didn’t try hard enough. Kado, her stepfather is nice enough along with her step brother and sister, Sue, and Ken. They made it safe though the plane ride and got to Ireland and the two girls were at a Pub and that’s when they ran into… Josh.
That’s started the “You will love me.” And Cadence angry stares at their friend.
“Who the hell do you think you are you were supposed to be in Wild Wood” Cadence hissed.
“I just changed my mind.”
Cadence narrowed her eyes at Josh.
“Your father invited me.” He confessed looking away from her.
“Since when? And why would you listen to my father in the first place.”
“I got an offer I couldn’t refuse.” Josh said in her ear.
Cadence hated the flirting expressly with Hanna around. She growled inwardly giving Josh another annoyed look. “You know how Hanna is right now. How could you.” She looked over at Hanna now returning from going pee with another drink in her hand walking over spilling it as she wavered drunk. “What offer did he give you?”
“Your father Mr. Brooks offered me a job while I go to Trinity College in the fall.” Josh looked over at Hanna with pity. He was sorry that he didn’t feel the same way. He hated the look he got from here when he rejected her he would never forget the look and he knew that the two of them will never be friends or the same again. “ She’ll get over it.” Josh said frustrated.
Cadence slapped Josh across the face, grabbed Hanna , “Come, were leaving.”
Josh watched them go as he remembered the exchange the morning of post prom.
“Hanna, I’m sorry. I don’t feel the same way. I love someone else.” Josh spoke gently as he could and he felt like a jerk. Heavy ball grew in his belly when he saw the hurt, devastation on his best friends face.
“Are you gay because I can deal with you being gay.” Hanna’s voice an octave higher.
Josh almost laughed “No. I’m not gay.”
“Who is it then!” she demanded from Josh.
Josh didn’t have the heart to tell her that he been in love with Cadence since the first grade way before Hanna came alone and made the trio. He couldn’t tell her that. Cadence and her beautiful azure blues and her soft brown-blond hair which she now dies black. Either way she looks like a goddess to him. For a while there he thought that Cadence felt the say way but suddenly she started pulling away. After the whole Hanna confession everything started to make since now. Hanna face turned red with anger and embarrassment.
“Fine don’t tell me.” She yelled She got up to go and headed out the door turned around “God forbid it’s Cade.” But Hanna didn’t know what she was saying she was too upset and Josh’s eyes went wide and almost told her that it was.
“The nerve of him” Cadence said as they made the long walk to her father’s estate.
“You’ll see Cadie, I’ll make him love me.” Hanna hiccupped in her determined drunkenness.
Cadence sighed, thinking this is going to be a long night. She hoped that Hanna would forget running into Josh. She hoped to forget the tingling feeling she got when Josh whispered into her ear. She couldn’t. She wouldn’t. She looked at Hanna as she took of her shoes.
“Hanna Keep your shoes on!”
“NO!”
What is it the British say at this moment? She thought. “Don’t complane to me that your feet hear in the morning. I should have taken the car.
