A movie seen in 1996, a reminder of a long ago memory of a child who faced issues much the same. Ignored, looked down upon, forgotten. A movie of a little girl, doing what she loves to be looked and talked down to. A little girl who this girl had been able to relate to.

I graduated from Cleveland State University yesterday morning with my Bachelors Degree of Arts with focus on English literature. A ceremony in which I had to be present for by 8:30am...starting at 9:30am. By noon, we were completed with the entire ceremony. We went home, got ready to leave for lunch (mom, dad, Justin, Erin, Caitlin, grandma, Corey and myself). We waited for my grandfather, aunt and uncle who ended up getting lost on the way there, so we (mom and I) drove to where he was to lead him back to where we were eating. After eating, grandpa, Aunt Dee and Uncle Lowell headed back home, we dropped off grandma and headed back to our house. Corey and I hung out down in my room and ended up falling asleep. We woke up in enough time to head out again to my friend's party over at a local bar. Spent time with some friends and had a few drinks. Corey and I left around 11pm and went with another one of my friends to the local 24hr Walmart. We did our share of shenanigans and came back home. Corey left and made it back to his house around 1:30am and I went to bed.

A very unforgettable day, a very unforgettable night. I can't say I have had a day as amazing as that in a LONG time. I needed a break. And now that I am done with college (for now at least, I may get my Masters of Fine Arts degree later on), I can finally breathe.

A movie seen in 1996, a reminder of a long ago memory of a child who faced issues much the same. A movie that reminds me that if I make the effort, I can create my own destiny. A movie that reminds me that I had the faith, I made the decisions and I allowed myself to be bigger and better than what I could ever have dreamed.

Here I am...Kristin...a college graduate...and I have succeeded.

This is me.
