Longer update then

My grandad (dad’s dad) is currently in hospital. He’s had heart problems (chiefly failure, which I always thought was like a heart attack but basically means the heart just doesn’t pump enough as it’s wearing out) for a year or 2, and has had a few mild (no paralysis etc) strokes as a result. He’s been getting gradually more poorly and finally ended up in hospital around 3 weeks ago with suspected kidney failure (though that seems to have been disproved, at least thus far), where he’s been since. He’s still all there, making jokes and complaining that his pacemaker’s keeping him going for too long – he’s bored, and wants to give up. All we can really do is keep him company now; however, he appears to be slightly better in the last few days. The doctor told him he shouldn’t still be here after last week, and they’re talking about physio. I’m still not hopeful, but as long as he’s comfortable and has family around him at least we know he’s being looked after and cared for.

Dublin; went to see a friend. She was originally my friend Jon’s friend from Nebraska, and we met her in Chicago when we were in the US around 5-6 years ago. She came over here to work for a while a couple of years back, and has been alternating between London and Dublin since then. So Debby, Jon and 2 others (and me!) went over to see her for the weekend and have our cash forcefully extracted from our wallets. Yayness… I now have a taste for Guinness. We shall see if that taste remains when I try the English stuff (pub tomorrow, we shall see….).

Raiding is irritating me atm. We have good nights, great nights, terrible nights. And a mixture of both. For example, last night we went for Assembly of Iron first, and decided to go for ‘medium’ mode, ie: Molgeim last. And we one-shotted it. Awesome. Then it went downhill, had some shit pulls (and 2 ninja pulls) one Auriaya, followed by a ‘meh’ Hodir kill on the 5th pull or something. Then we wiped on Thorim for 90 minutes. Actually… we wiped on the pre-Thorim arena/tunnel mobs. What the hell is that about?

I'm sorry about your grandfather, but it sounds like he is still somewhat upbeat and accepting.

My guild is being rather dramatic. I had to put some people in their place last night. They're getting all sorts of cocky...

Sorry to hear about your grandad. Never know though, maybe he'll come back stronger than ever? I hate when family members go to the hospital, I always end up feeling completely useless when I go see them, lol. I'm glad he's doing a bit better though.

RYC: I just got my pally up to 80 yesterday (after a month of waiting for our new computer)..and well...not me technically, as soon as I got that pally to 79, my fiancee just kinda took him over. Now he wants him for tanking/raiding, and I want him for pvp. (thank god for duel speccing.) Sorry to hear about your irritation with your raiding, but that's wow for ya, sometimes everyone gets it together and gives your ego a bit of a boost, sometimes, even if one person, is having an off day well...all ya can do is take a break, take a breather, and then hop back on the WoW train. Good luck in your future raiding!

As for my little Ribbon rat, she's been doing slightly better, but at the same time not. While we can't get her to go to the dish to eat the food we lay out for her, my boyfriend and I have been taking the time to sit and feed her daily, which she enjoys, because now she'll actually get up on her own and walk to the cage door which isn't far, but it's something, right? lol. He's taking it much harder than I am. I got my rats knowing their life spans and their vulnerability to certain illness, so I prepared myself early on for this very thing. I appreciate your sentiment on it though.
