Alone
You curl up, your eyes are shut,
Your rough thoughts won't let up.
Dreams have been harsh for you but,
Your mind just won't give up.
You've sunk into depression.
You won't give it a rest.
Your life is full of tension,
You are stressed more or less.
You've been to see doctors,
And probing psychiatrists.
But they missed all the factors,
What with all their lies and tricks.
They don't know that you're hurting,
They think they're mind readers.
But they can't feel what you're feeling,
And they're not fortune-tellers.
They smile and laugh and talk,
They think they understand.
All they do is stalk,
You really ain't their friend.
So in the end, you walk away,
Tuning out all their lies.
Better off alone, anyway,
Then be with a bunch of flies.
