Wow, my PSLE Oral examination is tomorrow... *Whistles*
So today, Honeybee and T.G kinda got into an argument.
Sigh~
It started when we were all shifting tables and chairs for the big exam tomorrow. We really wanted to make a good first impression on the teachers from other schools since we're an Islamic school and we don't want them to start thinking that we Muslims are apparently rowdy students that make way too much noise.
Okay, maybe we are rowdy sometimes...but we're still kids! And that's besides the point.
The point is...umm...okay, okay, forget the point.
Anyway, while T.G and I were moving a table together, Honeybee came over to help us. Then, she said it.
"T.G, you are such a tiny girl!" she said. Afterwards, T.G went over to me and told me that she found it very insulting. I was like, "Okay, but you know, Honeybee, she's blunt. Besides, I mean, you are tiny, NO OFFENCE, no offence! And it's a fact." I tried to comfort her and at the same time backed up for Honeybee. I didn't really want to go against either of them.
Then again, seeing from T.G's point of view, I must say I would be a little hurt if Honeybee made that remark, seeing that T.G was actually pretty small for her age, actually. It's just that I still don't understand why T.G would be so sensitive about a little thing. I mean, I'd just brush it off. I'm tiny? I'm weird? So what? Pah, being called weird is far worse than tiny. But I'm not T.G so I guess that's probably why I don't understand.
It's most probably because of the way Honeybee said it. The way she said it, it was as though she was saying, "T.G, you are so tiny, you shouldn't be helping to move the tables!" When I voiced this opinion of mine to Honeybee later, she told me that what she had actually meant to say was "T.G, you are such a tiny girl, and yet you still have immense strength!", except that she had to cut herself off because the table randomly swung a bit to the side at the moment. I'm not entirely sure if what she said was true, but I guess I'll never know.
The point is (aha! The point is back!), Honeybee is pretty blunt most of the time. She says stuff, and hurts other's feelings intentionally or unintentionally. She did tell me that most of the time, it's intentional so, umm, yeah. Trust me, she has said hurtful stuff with a smile on her face to me before. I mean, it may not be hurtful to others, but I can be pretty sensitive to certain topics sometimes. But most of the time, I just grin and put a smile on my face unless it goes way too far. Then the smile disappears, a frown appears, and I snap.
Also, the irritating thing is: both of them thinks that the other is wrong to act that way and neither of them thinks that what they said or did was wrong. So I, basically, had no idea how to make peace. They'll probably get over it by tomorrow. Hopefully. Probably. Whatever.
You know, I talked to Honeybee about the being blunt thing. She simply told me that it's not good to keep your feelings to yourself and bottle them up and in the end, you'll be wishing that you said whatever it was you wanted to say at him or her. Well, there might be some truth in that, but you can't let out your feelings all the time. You gotta keep it in sometimes, because, you never know, just one hurtful or insensitive word could break a friendship or cast your friends away from you.
So keep it together, bro!
I know, you're not my bro...whoever you are...
Have a cheerful day, everyone!
