Rant For The Day

10/30/2018

You know what I don't understand? Why do drug addicts get access to their drug of choice for free to get off said drug, but someone with diabetes has to pay for a medication that they have to have in order to live? That just doesn't make any sense to me, at all. These people literally need insulin injections/pills in order to go through day to day life. And they have to pay thousands of dollars a year for the right to live?? How is that right?

It just really pisses me off that they have to go through life, paying to live, and then there are others who abuse the system to get free drugs. Now, I know that not all of those who have free access are abusing it. Some of them are definitely working hard to get clean, but a great many are not. If they were, we'd be seeing them less and less. And then there are people with diabetes who are paying for their right to survive. Some of them can't always afford it. They have to choose between food or insulin. That's just not right.

Oh....I sooo understand this!! It's the same with depression/anxiety meds. Those with chronic illnesses can't function without their medications. It frustrates mea lot because health care in general is so expensive. I wish I had an answer. Or solution.

Same. I have a chronic illness and I have to pay for my medication; it's still a new drug, though, so that's part of it for me.

I am so glad that I live in a country where I get my diabetes pills and insulin free.

Where do you live that it's free? I'm in Ontario and they're like "nah, bruh, you can pay for that life saving drug, but gender reassignment is free."
