It seems like laundry just multiplies all the time. It's one of those things that you can't just do a month's laundry at once. It would be convenient if you could, but life just doesn't work that way. In a week or less, you will have run out of some clean clothes that you need.
For awhile, I also thought it would be good to have lots of pairs of socks, underwear, etc so that none of these would become a limiting factor in the laundry cycle. Well, that was true, but.... newsflash... something will become the limiting factor in the laundry, eventually! It just comes down to what it's going to be. Even with lots of pairs of essential items (socks, underwear etc) you will eventually run out of jeans or something like that. Even if you, miraculously, managed to get through 2 weeks without having to do laundry, guess what?? You will have enough for 2 loads, literally, after those 2 weeks are up.
So, I eventually made peace with the laundry thing. I didn't try to work around it by stocking up on lots of socks and underwear anymore. In the end, when the hamper is full, that's about one load, and it means it's time to do laundry. Simple.
Speaking of which.... I'd better go.....!
