Sometimes I wonder what everyone else is doing, what their lives are like. If I am in line someplace, I wonder about everyone else. What's their story? Where are they coming from, and where are they going to?
You never know what it's like to be someone else unless you walk a mile (or really a thousand miles or more) in their shoes.
People-watching is interesting. I guess that makes me sound weird and nosy, but I sometimes wonder what they're doing, why, and how. Of course it might be something boring that they're doing right at that moment. Like for example the person returning library books is, well, just returning library books. But that doesn't mean their life is boring, I only saw one bit of it just then (probably because I was also doing the boring task of returning library books that day too!)
What is the rest of their life like? Are they happy or sad? People do type a lot of stuff about their feelings on social media, but even then it's edited, it's not like they'll just put out their every exact thought there where everyone is going to read it. I wonder what they really are thinking? Is it similar to the image they project? Or is it different? If it's different, then how different? Those are sometimes things I ponder.
At the same time, I don't think I'd like to have the ability to read minds. Even if it was possible to do it, there are some things you really wouldn't want to know about. So I guess I'll just have to be content with people-watching.
