Strike
Terrible news. At 1:00 p.m. yesterday afternoon, Nathan Alexander, one of the professors from the history department at my university, passed away. Dr. Alexander was one of the most influential people in my academic and personal life, and when I found out last semester that he would be taking leave to battle leukemia, I prayed that God would heal his body and bring him back to his students. I also prayed that he would pull through for his daughter, the love of his life. The saddest part of this whole thing is that Dr. Alexander made it through every hoop he had to jump to even get the marrow transfusion, battling a series of infections along the way. Once he received it, he was well on his way to recovery, only to contract a strain of influenza that resulted in yesterday's tragic events. Please keep Dr. Alexander's family, especially his daughter, in your thoughts and prayers and they deal with this loss.
We love and miss you Nathan.
