I'm not usually one to whine about cold or heat like it's the end of the world. I don't like cold. I lived in North Carolina for 15 years, and even though that ended in 1993, I still haven't truly adjusted. But enough already. We're supposed to get like 8 more inches of snow Tuesday night into Wednesday. One of the Religious School kids yesterday was saying 16. If I find out who that was.... I don't enjoy being stuck inside with a toddler for full days. I get over-Nick Juniored and over-Elmoed. Geezus - I live in Ohio, not Svalbard. All I can think of is my mom telling me that Ohio doesn't get horrible winters, back in July of 1993. The first two nights we lived here there were tornado sirens. That winter was the worst since the 1977-78 blizzard. My mom brought up recently that she was thinking about that again and how I'd never forgive her for "lying!"
Speaking of 1993... I got a COSI (Central Ohio Science & Industry museum) membership for the first time ever. I went with my sister, her son (6 months old), and one of her old friends and her daughter (6 years old) from New York. The six-year-old and my 2-year-old were hilarious together. Niveah was talking to M like they were equals. We only really got to do the permanent exhibits before Morgan dissolved, but it's this weekend through September that there will be a Sherlock Holmes exhibit, and my inner and outward Geek are squealing with delight. I just downloaded a bunch of Sherlock Holmes from gutenberg.org to my Nook. Not that I don't have it already in book form. But that is a great site for downloading free books that the copyrights have expired.
(OMG, my healthcare provider just robo-called me, the put me on hold. 0.o "All our associates are busy." Really???... "Can you verify that you are the parent or guardian of Megan?" Um... Morgan? "Oh, yeah, sorry.")/headdesk
