It’s been a while, let’s see if I can get caught up. The weekend of the fourth was a three day weekend for me, I had begun to organize the garage the week leading up to the holiday weekend and I continued to make progress in organizing that area over the long weekend. I smoked a pork tenderloin on Saturday and made pulled pork for the week. Sunday I slept in, did some things around the house, and basically relaxed. Monday I got up early to mow the grass then napped and worked in the garage. Having a short week was a mixed blessing because I also had a LOT of work to do and having only four days to cram it all in made for a hectic week.
This past weekend was almost as hectic. I had planned to drive to Winston-Salem, NC for the Modified races at Bowman Gray Stadium and my co-worker needed a lift as far as Charlotte so I left a little early and dropped him off at a friend’s in Charlotte to go and collect his car from the shop. I passed the time between 2pm and 4pm before arriving at the track because it was miserably hot and humid and I wanted to minimize the time spent in the heat. Here are some of my photos from the race track:
I drove home after the races, I didn’t arrive until a bit past 2am and I was wired from coffee and driving so it was 4am before I fell asleep. That threw my entire weekend off, I didn’t do a darn thing on Sunday and I fell asleep very early on Monday and Tuesday night as well before getting my internal clock reset. |
