My doctor gave me a prescription for anti-inflammatory meds for bone spurs in my heel about two months ago, and I finished the prescription late last week. I don’t know if it was going off the anti-inflammatory meds, the change in the weather, inserting 400 rounds of ammo into carbine magazines by hand then firing that ammo, or a combination of all three that made me feel so stiff, sore, and exhausted yesterday when I got home from work that I almost immediately fell asleep in my chair for about an hour. I hobbled around all evening on sore feet and with stiff shoulders and swollen knuckles before finally going to bed around 11pm. I feel somewhat better today, I hope I have more energy when I make it home after work.
I bought a couple of model car kits on eBay this week. Both are long out of production (one set of molds has been lost since the ‘80s and the other set of molds was irreversibly modified in the early ‘70s). I got a screaming deal on one and a decent deal on the other one, I paid a total of $22.24 after shipping for the model car kit that’s been unavailable since the ‘80s and I paid $94.99 after shipping for the one that was last seen circa 1970. Yes, I have plans for both. I do need to have another big eBay sale though, to help me clean out my upstairs storage room.
I met a friend early Saturday morning and we drove to western North Carolina for a model car show. The turnout was a little disappointing, this is the second year since they moved to a different venue and the turnout has been poor for both years. I forgot my camera but I did take one photo with my phone camera. It’s a model built by my friend using decals that I did the artwork for. This is the car Johnny Rutherford drove for Smokey Yunick at the ’63 Daytona Speedweeks. Rutherford won his 100 mile preliminary race prior to the Daytona 500, making him still the only driver in NASCAR history to win his first NASCAR Grand National race.
