I’m preparing for my annual road trip, a 14+ hour pilgrimage to Wayne, NJ for the biggest model car show on the East coast. Three of us will be making the trip this year, I’m picking up one friend on the other side of town and then driving to Asheville, NC to pick up the other traveler. This will be our first major road trip in the new vehicle, I bought a new Toyota Venza about six weeks ago. I traded the GTO and sold the Aztek to a co-worker so now I’m back down to just two vehicles. It certainly helps with logistics at the very least. I’m hoping for 35 MPG on the highway with the Venza, although the steep grades I’ll encounter during the first half of the trip might reduce that a bit.
We're discussing staying an extra day and traveling into New York City on Sunday, it'll depend on the weather. I haven't been since 1980 and neither of my traveling companions have ever been into the city.
Work is still… work. I’ve been spending a lot of time doing software simulations of gas flow, we’re making progress but we’re beginning to be very limited by our server power. Lots of opportunities there though, if we can develop it to its full potential. |
