I saw a couple of rather thought-provoking sights this weekend.
Are all of you familiar with the Sonic drive-in chain? Anyway, it's an old-time drive-in with car hops so you order from your car and they bring it to you. The odd thing I noticed was that the Sonic we stopped at on Saturday had a handicapped parking spot. Think about that for a minute, handicapped parking at a car-hop drive-in. The second thing I saw was today. As I drove home on I-20 there was a car in the breakdown lane rolling very slowly with the flashers on. The car was a nondescript imported compact about 10-15 years old, with an amateur paint job in dark pink and dull black. As I passed I saw one of the vinyl-cut signs on the trunk lid. "Pinking Ain't Easy". Mmmm-kay.
I picked up my wife's new gun Saturday, I had bought it through gunbroker.com and the transaction went flawlessly. I mailed a money order on Monday, the item shipped Thursday and was received at my local dealer on Saturday. She loves it, she's been practicing dry-firing it ever since we got it home. I ordered a set of Crimson Trace laser dot grips for it also.
I leave Thursday at noon for my vacation in the Smoky Mountains. We're spending the long weekend in Pigeon Forge, TN. I hope to have internet access but I'm not sure how much I'll be online. |
