I'm sick
July 5th, I woke up with a red spot on my belly button. It kinda hurt, and, I figured it was a spider bite. Fast forward a few hours, and it's gotten bigger and a lot more sore...by bedtime, about a fourth of my belly button was covered by a large, oozey, open wound. I called The Madre (because naturally, what do you do if you don't know the anwser? You ask your Mom. Because they know everything.) and asked her what to do...I think she thought I was exaggerating, so, I took a picture on my phone and sent it to her. She says if it gets worse I might want to think about going to the doctor. Fast forward to morning, and I was running a fever, the sore had about doubled in size, and I was terribly sick to the stomach. Took another picture, sent it to Mom, and THEN called her this time. She said she would take me to the doc if I could get in after 2 that afternoon (still can't drive cause of my foot...). So, I called the doctors office, and get informed that my doc doesn't have an opening until AUGUST. Mother. Fucking. August. It was JULY 6th for fuck sake. (I think I am changing doctors, by the way...) What good does having a doctor do if you can't get in when you are sick? At which point, my Mother informs me that she is taking me to the ER since I can't get into the doctors, because she thinks it is a bite from a Brown Recluse spider. Which makes sense. I'd spent a lot of time in the garage the 4th. I talked to my best friend about it, and she then recommended to me the Take Care Clinic inside of Walgreens. I was kind of leery of trying it, it just seems weird, but, I figured it'd take a lot less time then the ER, and be a LOT cheaper, so, why not.
Got in there and literally I wasn't even sat down from filling out my information at the computer before I was getting called back. The ARNP that saw me was AMAZING. She determined it is either a Staph infection, MRSA, or an abcess - not that it really matters which, because the treatment is rather the same for all. I got a perscription for ten days of Bactrim (a sulfa antibiotic - rediculously strong) and a topical antibiotic. If it gets worse I have to go back there or go to the ER, but hopefully the meds will clear it up. The last couple months have been hell on me physically - foot surgery, kidney stones, and now this....I just passed the kidney stones last week for fuck sake, cut me a break!! Cheese and crackers.
Been kinda bumming around the house as much as possible. Flexing my stomach muscles hurts like hell, even if it's just a little, so, I'm super glad Jude has learned to walk. Means more chasing, but less lifting.
Netflix is being stupid. Grr.

From the way you described it, it does sound like a Brown Recluse spider bite. My cousin's dad got bit on his back and that's exactly what happened to him. It started off as a painful red spot and then as the day passed on it started oozing and then there was a gigantic hole from where the skin was bein rotted off. I really hope this medicine works for you, it sounds hella painful.
