Day 1 - Fit Test.

02/25/2014

Insanity Indeed
And so it begins, day one of the Insanity Challenge and boy the reviews weren't kidding. That being said however, I am very surprised at how well I managed to keep up. Day one consists of taking the 'Fit Test'. It's pretty much a work out in itself but you do a series of 8 moves and you track your progress over the 63 days by keeping count of how many you do for each one. Every two weeks you take the fit test again and see if there's any improvement.
I wouldn't consider myself majorly fit, considering I go to the gym and do martial arts, I find I do still struggle. However I managed to keep up or even surpass the scores of the two people on the DVD who were doing it for their fifth time! It was still very hard and halfway through my chest started burning and it hurt to breathe but I kept going. I'm sore and achey now though, but then I was before I started due to an intense training session at Kuk Sool last night. I also think I've really overworked my right knee, as when I walk up and down the stairs it really hurts. I'll have to see how it feels in the morning with my 6am start!.
Food for today was a bit of a failure. I started off well but then my mother intervened with a hot cross bun. Tomorrow will have to be better!

Food Intake
Tea
Benefit with red fruit cereal and semi skimmed milk
Hot cross bun
6 whole cashew nuts

I love Insanity. It will kick your ass like nothing else ever could.

I mean, at least when you think you are literally going to die - and trust me, you're going to feel like that - you still have the respite of staring at the deliciousness of Shaun T.

I wish you awesome good luck! I know of exactly two people who have managed to finish the program. I am, alas, not one of them (a two-week sickness just after week five floored me and I stand by that as a valid excuse), but I do still do regular workouts from both stage 1 and 2 from the DVDs

I pretty much need a kick up the ass so I think it's the perfect workout programme for me! Although my knee is still really painful today I only just managed to do the second disk! I think I would have kept up better if it weren't for my knee. I'm hoping it heals quickly so I can put 110% effect in!
