So after months of rehearsing this play that filled me with dread at the sheer incompetence of people, it was opening night last night! It actually went OK, the band wasn't too great which put a lot of people off, but I didn't muck up my solo or any of my lines... I didn't feel nervous but then I reckon that was because I had no one watching me to make me care! Got my dad and brother coming tonight, friends coming tomorrow and Adam on Saturday (he's the one that really counts as I can't make a fool of myself in front of him)!
So now trying to save my voice, teaching is not a good job for that as shouting does happen! Got the new year 12s coming in today and tomorrow as well, it's really interesting to see who we may be teaching and stuff, over 75 kids are coming to drama and there's a maximum number of places for 54 kids, how crazy is that!!
Anyways the bad thing about my week is my house- I really haven't got on with my russian housemate- this is namely because he's messy and just doesn't seem to wear more clothing than a pair of shorts- why?!? Our cooker broke last week and a new one has arrived but can't be installed until an electrician comes... I got a phone call last night from my landlord saying that they have a job too and can't do everything- but I want to eat hot food!!!
Am I being ridiculous??!
Going to Rome next week with Adam, can't wait- already planned my outfits, that's how much of a geek I am xxx |
