We all know we LOVE bloopdiary (thanks 2 steve! :-)) But "everyone has" myspace or facebook Which do u prefer facebook or myspace? And why? Me facebook - switched over after I had to make a new myspace account cuz they wouldn't let me change email by the time I tried 2 get my friends over on myspace every1 headed over to facebook and I enjoy facebook a lot more than myspace now I rarely go on to myspace plus its so much easier on my phone for facebook! :-) |

I prefer facebook. I had a myspace for a few years, but deleted it about a year ago because I was bored with it. I like facebook because it's more private than myspace tends to be. Less pervs and stuff on facebook. I rarely ever get someone I don't know wanting to add me on FB. Also, like to use facebook mobile, too.

Well since MySpace is entirely populated by children who don't understand colour clashes or HTML, then I think it's obvious what my answer is. And I used to HATE that automatic music so many people would have on their profiles. NO, I don't WANT to listen to your dire taste in music! Auto playing music on the internet should be banned.
I joined Facebook in January of 2007. And I hate to say it, but oh my God, it was SO much better when only students and alumni were allowed on it. I think Facebook started going downhill with the advent of applications, and letting anyone under the age of 18 join. I see some kids in discussion forums on groups, with this appalling spelling and grammar, swearing like I don't know what, and I just think, 'You are going to fail at life.' |

I didn't know that it started as only for students and alumni.

Well when it FIRST started it was only for Harvard students, then students in the US, then I think it expanded into Europe.

Yeah when I first joined in fall of '05 they were just discussing letting HS students have a facebook. I miss the "only university students" facebook days....

I have both, but I rarely use MySpace. Definitely prefer Facebook. Facebook is faster, has better features, is more private, and I can't "like" anything on MySpace which annoys me! :P

I prefer facebook. Myspace seems to have more people trying to still up drama that's why I got rid of mine. Haven't ever had any issues with my facebook and drama. Plus my family is on it too.

MySpace is dead, and rightly so.
You want to know what was cool about MySpace? Everyone you knew was on it. You want to know what was shitty about MySpace? You couldn't find them, at all. I was trying to find my friend Sarah Thompson (example name). I know her age, her high school/year of graduation, and hometown. I don't know her current city. MySpace would turn up 500 results regardless of relevancy. |

Facebook searches by the closest amounts of friends in common. If you don't have any friends in common, it'll search through their friends and see what's up. Facebook is a giant web, and it'll give you people socially closest to you.

Facebook is a lot better...there is more privacy...it's easier to find your friends...there are more games to play and it keeps you occupied. :)

Facebook, definitely. So much more organized and easier to use and you don't have to worry about layouts or privacy issues or any of that crap.
Love it. :] |

This!
Though I wish the colours were customizable. I tend to use dark colours on my computer, and facebook is always BAM in my face and it hurts my eyeballs. XD |

Bloop is pretty bright, too, though, right?
Ahhhh bright websites! *shakes fist* But I kid. I love Bloop. :] |

Looks like I'm the first to prefer MySpace. I have and use both, but the only reason I use Facebook at all is because all of my friends went there, and what is a social networking site if you dont have any friends on it to be social with? Naturally, that means I'm stuck using Facebook more as well, but I much prefer MySpace. MySpace is more customizable (my favorite aspect of any site), and they dont spam the crap out of you like Facebook does. Every time I go to Facebook, it's nothing but 900 apps. Every time I check my e-mail, I have 60 messages from Facebook telling me to check out the 900 apps.... *sigh*. I realize there is a way to shut all these things off, but it's no big deal. It's just that if I were to compare the two, the first thing to come to mind is "Well, I didnt have to deal with ANY of this b-s on MySpace..." I never HAD to shut it off on MySpace. MySpace just never bothered me.

Yeah, I'm surprised Facebook hasnt started doing it. Not even a little bit! I would think that they would with their growing popularity

I hope they don't. I probably wouldn't use it anymore if it did.

I wouldn't either. It messes with what I've got going on my computer.

I've always gotten more bullcrap on Myspace, with these spambot "bands" who are like, "HEY DUDE, I HEARD YOU LISTENED TO THAT ONE SONG ON YOUTUBE 2 YEARS AGO, WE'RE JUST LIKE THAT, CHECK US OUT!"
|
Poetic Justice Post Count: 229 |
Ha, yeah. I did get those. Random requests from bands, and dumb girls saying 'Look how cute I am!' while trying to rack up friends... But I'd only get one or two of those a month at most. On Facebook I get "Hey join this silly farm thing! So-and-so just sent you a drink! One of your friends just poked you! Poke poke poke!..." oh boy.
