Voters in the ski resort town of Breckenridge, Colorado legalized marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia by a nearly three-to-one margin on Tuesday.

It is the first municipality in the United States to allow paraphernalia, such as pipes, bongs and bubblers.

"[The measure] passed 73 percent to 27 percent," ABC 7 News in Denver reported.

"'This votes demonstrates that Breckenridge citizens overwhelmingly believe that adults should not be punished for making the safer choice to use marijuana instead of alcohol,' said Sean McAllister, a Breckenridge attorney who proposed the ordinance," ABC continued.

"Possession remains illegal under state law, but Breckenridge Police Chief Rick Holman said his department will 'still have the ability to exercise discretion,'" Colorado's Summit Daily News added.

It is illegal in the state BUT a law was passed to make it a low priority crime, and tickets are only a few dollars, so they dont even bust you for it, it isnt worth the paperwork to them

HAHAHA!!! Because to live up there you need a golden egg laying goose. Seriously its retarded expensive, but thats the mountain towns. It will be legal in Denver/Colorado before you know it. It failed in 2006, then they passed medicinal marijuana, and its starting to make that stigma disappear, so I have no doubt it will be completely legal soon.

I dont smoke but I think if a grown adult wants to make that choice to screw up his/her body, they should be able to. but thats a different post entirely LOL!

my mind got blown this week when my MIL's "sister" told me that my husband's grandfather had another family back in the day. so my husband has uncles and anuts he's never seen.

another thing that blew my mind(a while back tho)was that we found out that my MIL was sleeping with 2 of our friends, the next door neighbor, the sherrif down the street and the pool guy. yup she's a hoe! she still wonders WHY none of her daughter-in-laws have respect for her!!

I got my mind blown a few years ago when I found out my dad had three other kids with different women before he met my mother, as well as 14 total brothers and sisters.
So I have siblings and nieces/nephews (through them.) that I've never met. And I've only met about five of his siblings.

my mind was blown when my moms old lover sent me a facebook message and friend request and because of his attempt of communication with me and my mom i found out that my mom had an affair around the time i was born. my dad was deployed and stationed in korea at the time and i was born very premauter and fighting for my life (50% chance of survival)in the hospital. I learned the kind of woman my mom really was and it hurt me.

My mind was blown when my grandfather left his life insurance money to a whore he had been seeing due to his wife (my grandmother) and her abuse! Can you really blame him? She made him sit for days in his own crap before my mother found out and called the police...(((he had hooks and not hands. He lost his hands in WWII)))

Omg that is just so wrong. Abusing old people is no worse than doing it to helpless children in my eyes. I hope they arrested her for neglect. years ago my dad told me my grandfather was married and had children before he met my grandmother. they moved to australia from scotland, had three children. two boys, one girl. one of the boys accidentally shot and killed his mother while playing around with a shot gun he didn't realise was loaded :-/ they moved back to scotland and on the way met my grandmother on the boat. so my dad has half brothers and a half sister. i've never met them. it's amazing what family secrets are kept.

My last 'holy shit' time .. was when my mom told me she had an abortion not long after I was born .. because she had just had me and her and my dad were not going to be able to handle another one.

Yea it was pretty messed up. The worst part was she would always come up to me & my brother & speak every time we would come up to my dad's work. And even after my mom found out she would just smile all up in our faces. If I had known back then I probably would have called her a whore or something ..lol
