How important is it for you to be wearing socks that match?
Just thought I'd ask this because some people find it strange that I will wear mismatched socks. However, I tend to wear pants, so my socks are only visible if I'm not wearing shoes. I wanted to see where other people stand on this VERY IMPORTANT issue. :-) |

And yes, smiley face is meant to indicate I was joking about the seriousness of the issue. It's just a "for fun" topic.

Do you prefer matching socks or does it matter?

I prefer matching but I have worn odd ones a few times lol. Yo ucan actually buy pairs of socks now that don't match, I have 2 pairs of those.. they're odd tho lol. Yeah that makes no sense I hope you know what I mean! lol.

Oh, yeah. There's a website, littlemissmatched.com - they do three socks in a set, that "match" but don't match. Like, Black socks, and one has polka dots, one has stripes, one has stars.
My little sister has several pairs of those! I've never bought any because the adult sizes don't have patterns that I like. |

I usually wear ankle socks, so if they don't match, it's whatev, cause they're usually not seen.

Don't care what anyone else does (my boyfriend wears mismatched socks and I still love him), but my socks HAVE TO MATCH or else I will just weird myself out. xD

My sister in law purposely wears socks that dont match, like one pink and one yellow, or one with stars and one with stripes, its totally her personality. Usually if I am in a hurry and I dont have any that match I steal a pair of my husbands hahaha. He cannot do the same though because all mine have the pink on them LOL!

I'm severely OCD about things matching. It's almost sickening.
I can't wear socks that are exactly the same. Ever. I can always tell. My undies/bra ALWAYS match. And I try to match them to whatever top I'm wearing. I have pink toed/heeled socks that I only wear with pink outfits. (The reason I have special socks for pink outfits? I have sixteen pairs of pink shoes and just as many pink tops. So I basically wind up pink from head to toe.) The rest are white, with two brown pairs in case I need them. Which I usually don't because my only brown shoes are no-sock shoes. I wear nylons with my black shoes (the only black shoes I have are heels or flats that I don't wear socks with.) I could go on with how much of a freak I am with my wardrobe, but I'll just stop there ;D |

I love socks. Although I have a bunch of matching socks (like ones with ducks, tigers, etc.) I don't really care whether I match them, or not. Sometimes I do, & sometimes I don't.
I agree, though. This issue is EXTREMELY important. & I'm glad someone had the balls to start this controversial forum! :P |

i don't usually wear matching socks because i can't find them. lol. everyone hates me for it...

It depends. If I'm just going to be lounging about at home, it doesn't matter. If I'm leaving my house, then yes, matching. Buuuut.... I wear mine inside out. Always have. I hate the feeling of the seam on my toes, it creeps me out. If I had it my way, I'd actually never wear shoes, so socks wouldn't even matter.

Mine have to match! And if I don't find a sock's mate after a few more loads of laundry it gets throwed away. I hate how my mom used to keep every damn pair of mismatched socks we owned just because she thought one day she'd find the mate of it. ;D
|
Aubrey; Post Count: 377 |
Oh, see, I would never do that. Even if I lose one, if the other sock is still wearable (no major holes or anything), I'll still keep it. The idea of throwing away something that's still useful just makes me cringe.
|
Makayla Post Count: 751 |
It's not useful to me because I don't wear it unless there is a match. :P I guess having walmart bags full of mismatched socks in my sock drawers as a kid just irritated me so now I just throw them away. lol
|
Aubrey; Post Count: 377 |
Makes sense... ha, and I know how that is! I used to hate spending like, three hours sorting socks. [My parents were weird in that after a load of laundry was done, if a match couldn't be found for the socks, they got thrown in a basket, and we'd only sort through the basket like, once a month. Pain in the butt, I tell ya, especially when it contained socks for eight people].
But that has led to me not caring what socks I wear. |
Makayla Post Count: 751 |
Haha well see we have something in common. It just effected us in different ways. Everytime I had a mismatched sock my mom made me pull out that damn bag of socks & try to match them up. Never worked. Once they're gone,,they're gone. lol Now I just throw them away if I can't find the match.

Yes, sock sorting has changed our lives in drastically different ways, clearly! XD
And I wonder how your sock-sorting habits would affect your children? Hmm... sounds like an interesting study... lol! |
