Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that many Bloopers seem to have had a humour bypass? Like, someone will make a sarcastic comment, but these Bloopers will fail to see the sarcasm and will start bitching!

I'm guessing these people are just either ridiculously over-sensitive or plain crazy. ;) But seriously what's with it?

I agree TOTALLY. I think people need to grow a freaking skin and quit being so damn hyper sensitive about everything. It's annoying.

Oh WE Middle Easterners are the best XD We're right in the middle between UK, USA and Australia so we get all kinds of humor. The ones who can speak English of us that is =P

It's difficult for some people to read that much into someone else's words. They see what they want to see, and they hide behind the relative anonymity of the internet in order to pick fights without any real repercussions.

It probably doesn't help that text doesn't really convey emotions or context as well as speech does. But most people also live in a bubble where everyone is out to get them and they have to be the first one there so no one bites off their head instead. lol Bunch of tools, if you ask me.

People do take things to seriously here, Im usually all like "wow, ease up jerk".
Its about the only thing I dont like about Bloop.

there are communities on lj that have as many members as bloop that are about as close knit as it is here, but there's barely any drama. it's amazing, but seemingly possible.

not that lj doesn't have it fair share of drama. you only have to look it up on encyclopedia dramatica to know that ;D

Gosh, yo - there's plenty of drama on LJ. Totally depends which community you frequent! The difference is that you choose your own bunch of friends and thus create your own community. So, if you choose your friends wisely, you can totally avoid the dramaz! Mind you, that is possible on Bloop too - but people here are drawn to drama like flies to shit, yo!

The thing with LJ is that if you want the dramaz, you can totally select what kind of dramaz you want too, because it's so big and there is so much choice, and there are totally pre-made communities you can join as well as selecting your own bunch of friends. Like there is a community where people talk/debate/argue/get all snotty about grammar and linguistics, yo (a favourite hangout of mine - it is quite entertaining to behold! And there are quite a few people who really know their stuff, so it's a good place to ask questions too!)! And I hear some of the knitting/crafty type communities get quite a bit of drama, but they bore me, yo, so I don't go to them.

Actually, I find LJ a lot more mature and close-knit than Bloop, but that is only because of my own particular circle of friends there. It is a different experience for everyone. It's apparently famed as an emo hangout, if the emo song is to be believed! ;D

yeah i was too lazy to explain how communities on lj are. i have encountered some drama. it was pretty hilarious actually. someone got VERY angry over a community announcing who the new dr who was going to be, even though it has already been on tv and in various news articles. what were they going to do? go into hiding until 2010 when the new actor takes over? ;D

I've learnt not to be sarcastic, normally non-UKers don't get it then get angry, then when i explain what it means they think i'm calling them thick. I think we should stick to knock knock whose there

It's awfully hard to tell when someone is being sarcastic in the form of text without either italics or being very blatant. Text has a tendency also to come off as condescending, notably during debates.

As for 'non-UKers' not understanding sarcasm, I highly doubt that. Maybe just most of the people not from the UK you talk to are idiots. (Which is not a non-UK problem so much as it is a human problem.)
