The forums have been designed to place new posts in chronological order instead of threaded. What this means is that every new post to the forum will automatically show up at the bottom of the thread instead of right under the the post you responded to.

So to avoid confusion, you should be a little bit more specific with who you're responding to.

When responding to a post, at the beginning, write @[name of person you're responding to]. Say I'm responding to ~RedFraggle~ - I would start my post as such, "@~RedFraggle~:" then begin typing.

If everyone reading this incorporates this into their posts, it should completely eliminate the confusion of this update.

Nah, that won't even do it. Most of us have multiple posts within a thread. It's still confusing.

ROFL! I got the notification email for this on my phone, and it shows part of the email message for me, so all I saw was 'omg jessica shut up' and I was like 'wtf did I do now?' ;D

No worries. No one's getting rid of me that easily ;)

Simply adding someone's username to the reply isn't enough, a quote will also be required, and preferably a page, to just put the name assumes that we only ever post once within the same topic. I don't see why we cannot use standard quoting, this is the only forum I have used which chooses not to use standard quoting.

I agree that we need quotes. Until then, I just use the above format with a little copy and pasting.

Yeah it'll show the tags, but it doesn't do anything fancy in the forums - which is usually their intent.

Yeah, quotes will definitely be needed. I'm so confused in the 17 year old getting punched by a cop thread that I can't see straight. It's aggravatingly confusing.

this isn't really the most organised forum in the world. it needs a quote and edit function.
