Okay this is going to sound soooo strange...But I have to ask. I've read a few things online that confirm my feelings. But I wanted bloop moms opinions too!
Okay.... Last Friday, we got a new sperm donor. we know he can have children. He has a 1 y/o and another on the way. We started ttc with his donation on Saturday. And then again on Sunday. Now, as far as I knew it HAD to be at least 2 weeks before symptoms showed if it took. But yesterday, I stayed On the couch all day. I felt like crap, I was sooo tired adn even took naps [which I never do.] And I cramped all day. But it didn't feel like menstral cramps. These were different. Plus I'm hungry all the time. [which could just be me. lol I do that sometimes!] Anyways- today I have also been napping. But no matter how long I nap, I'm still so tired. And I just don't feel good. Oh and another thing...yesterday I started getting these really bad headaches. I've had them today too. Am I just being foolish? Or could I really be having symptoms this early?? I don't know what's going on. I just feel horrible. LIke I'm coming down with something. Any suggestions/opinions? Thanks for any help you can give! |

Symptoms can show straight away, but it normally takes about four-five days for the hormones to make any appreciable difference. I started having terrible nausea at 5DPO. You can't usually get a positive test much before 10DPO, so don't waste your money testing for another few days yet.

5-6 days after conception is too soon for symptoms, sorry. That just doesn't makes sense.

I agree with Mindi, some people do know straight away.

I'd assume they're just ghost symptoms... especially after only a week. Coincidences, probably, but you never know. I knew after 2 weeks that I was pregnant even though the test said no. Retested 2 weeks later and Viola!

I despise the whole process of sperm donors. Not because it's "wrong" or anything, but my sister once asked my brother if he would be her sperm donor (cause she's lesbian and only dates girls and wants children) and it grossed me out.
Also, I'm not a mom or mom-to-be. But I know my wife had huge food appetites for weird stuff. |

is it even possible for a sister to have her brother be a sperm donor? i mean isn't that kinda like incest? i would think the drs wouldn't be ok with it..

They never ended up going because my sister and her gf broke up soon after. So I dunno. BUt it's just even the thought that she would even ASK him. Everytime I see/hear/read about sperm donors, it makes me wanna gag.

ohhh.. interesting tho

That would not be allowed as it is incest, she probably doesn't realise how risky it can be, as most people just think about actually having sex where incest is concerned.

As far as the brother/sister sperm donor thing --
In a movie I watched once, a lesbian couple did the same thing - the sister asked the brother if they could use his sperm. But it wasn't the sister that was going to carry the baby - her girlfriend was. She said it was like using her sperm, if she would have had it? Yeah. So it could be that case...? But yeah, I don't know a lot about that so that's just me commenting on it. |

@STFU -- ah! Someone else has seen it. Yes, it was awesome. :-)

Seen it?? I OWN it!! I watch it all the time! lol Even tho it is sad. And no matter how many times I watch it I still end up crying my eyes out. Especially when purple guy plays that song at the funeral! :]

@STFU - yeah, I own it, too. Had to buy it when I saw it the first time. Purple guy at the funeral is awesome! Actually, I really like purple guy. :-)
I made my mom watch it, and she was in tears when Jack had his heart attack, pretty much until the end of the movie! |

That's true, she may not have thought about it that way. It's still gross tho.

I would imagine that as you obviously want to be pregnant you are sort of imagining the symptoms..
I wouldn't have thought you would be tired and eating more after a day or two!!! |

ok now that i think of it.. say the gf had the baby, wouldn't it be the sister's niece? instead of her being a daughter?

I didn't have symptoms until 3 weeks after I became pregnant... and even then, they were SO SLIGHT, I didn't even realize I was actually pregnant until a couple weeks later. So, I don't know if what you're experiencing are actual symptoms, or not... GOOD LUCK!

Those symptoms sound like you're pregnant because being tired and hungry ALL the time is how I felt most of my pregnancy, as well as being sick. But it's also only been a week. I would say give it a few weeks and if the symptoms persist try taking a pg test. Some people know right away that they are pregnant, and some don't know until they are 7 or 8 weeks along. I guess it just depends on the person though.

*or I should say, usually. I've never heard of anyone having nausea at 5 DPO like above, so I'd just say good luck, and you need to wait another week before testing-because PMS and pregnancy symptoms can be so similar.
