You're probably ok with sex shops, you might even have visited them or purchased from them several times... but how would you feel if the house next door became one?

I'd be over there all the time! ha.. I kid..kinda
I'd be worried about all the creepers..probably get the hell outta there .. creepers next door + my child = me killing someone |

I have no problem with them. There are creepsters everywhere, not just sex shops. I bet you more creepers go into your local grocery store than they do to sex shops.
If anything, teenage girls and people with fetishes go to sex shops more than creepers do. |

I lived across the street from one for the past 4 years. I loved it.

I'd honestly probably be pretty weirded out since I live in a court and it just wouldn't make sense to put one there. LOL
However, we did have someone try to put one in our city.. it never came into effect, people flipped out about it. I think it's silly to be honest.. I mean as long as they aren't advertising SEX SEX SEX SEX on the doors and vulgar pictures who cares? I'd just tell my kid "it's an adult store" and leave it at that.. |

Well said @ *-.Stephanie.-* but what is a court? Like a government building where trials and hearing are held? :O

Lovin'MyLittles Post Count: 322 |
Hmmm, how do I explain this?? It's also called a "culdesac" --

AHhh ok. I lived in a few culdesacs in my lifetime. Heh. Sorry about the confusion. Just never heard it called a court.

I would be ALL over that.
Sex shops do NOT necessarily mean creepers. Most of the people that go in them are women who just enjoy toys anyway. |

I honestly think it would depend on the type of porn store.
There are a bunch in my city, some I'd have no problem living next to, and others I would. Like this one near me has porn and toys and stuff, but it's mainly a lingerie store. The super video stores on the other hand, I feel dirty just walking into them. They have the movie viewing booths and everything... definitely not something I'd want to live next to. |

Wouldn't bother me if my property was rented, but if I owned it I wouldn't be happy because that's surely going to make it harder to sell.

I dunno if harder to sell, may appeal to a different market though ;) ;) ;)

Welp, being as I live in a big city, there are already about five of them within a mile of the house. Being next door to one wouldn't bug me one bit. Like Chris said... there are creepos everywhere.

Well, since you wouldn't have a choice if you didn't own the property, why not embrace the sexual atmosphere and get laid. ;-D

I'd be concerned...why the hell is someone running a sex shop out of their apartment?! I clearly live in an apartment complex.

I wouldn't want one next door to me, I like my leave it to beaver neighborhood. I just hate the people that reside here.

I'd move. Much the same way I would move if I found out a drug dealer lived next to me. Mainly because, in my state, porn shops aren't legal (unless recently changed w/out a big uproar). We do have one big adult store but they only have toys, costumes, etc, from what I've been told (I'm sure it's possible they have porn stashed somewhere). I have no need or desire to go to one.

See.. I live in area that the people who would go to a sex shop ARE creepers.. we seriously have very demented people in my town. I go to one about an hour away.. I dont personally have a problem with it.. I even have my fave shop (just lingerie, toys, etc..no shows) .. and the frequents in there are Mormon women and gays from what I've seen..lol
.. but I still dont want it next door. I live in an apartment complex in a small subdivision.. by a school.. Not a place for a sex shop. Like I said.. I'd move.. I rent.. so its not that big of a deal.. same as if I had a troublesome neighbor.. You cant change what happens in your neighborhood but you can change the neighborhood you are in. |

personally to each there own. Next door... well in my neighborhood it wouldn't work because it's like 2 blocks from an elementary school but my aunt lives about 6 blocks from one and they are really cool. They make sure their windows are okay to be seen by kids. They mostly just say Adult's only, Adult store, Tattoos (cause they do that besides selling toys, outfits, and porn). Stuff like that. They have someone sitting outside the door or near it to keep the kids out. Like someone said already you get more creepers at your grocery store then you do a sex shop. If you've read my diary you'd know I have a creepy stalker at the grocery store I work at.
I think too many people are close minded about sex stores. I've been in one and I don't really like it because I'm an uber shy person so I get embarrassed when in one. *shrugs* If I wasn't uber shy I would hella go in one with my guy. I honestly don't think that sex shops are horrible. They fill a demand, nothin more then that. |

It'd certainly be more quiet than the neighbors I have right now. They just make me want to eat Mexican food when they have parties (and yes, I feel mildly bad about it, but really... not a bad thing to enjoy good food). I have no problem with sex shops. However, I don't live in the best neighborhood. If I lived in a better one I'd have even less problems with it. Easier maneuvering than the one closest to my home right now.
