So, today's the 50th anniversary of the deaths of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and the Big Bopper. I'm 19, so obviously I wasn't present for any of his life (though I am a distant relative, I've discovered! My cousin's husband is his nephew!), and I dunno if we have any Bloopers who were...but I was curious. Do any of you all listen to Buddy Holly, or the other two?

I am a HUGE fan, and I had really been wanting to go to Lubbock, TX today.

Although I never listened to the people you had mentioned, for the people who are around my age (30), April 8th, 1994 was the darkest day in music.
This day was when a generation of music died.
Curt Cobain was found dead in his house with a suicide note next to him.
When I walked into my homeroom class and Nirvana was playing over the PA system, I knew something wasnt right. The president of the SR class came over the PA system to let us all know of the tragity that happened. They played Nirvana music not only during homeroom but inbetween classes.

Buddy Holly means so much more to me, as he brought a new hope and style to music that is still visible today. Kurt Cobain was just whiny...I didn't like him then, and I don't now. :/
