I don't have anything much to say that can be adequately "fixed" about the main page. It's just, on a fundamental level, not my cup of tea. I think it can be a bit overwhelming to new users who are overloaded with lots of information at once, and all of this information bleeds together. Everything sort of looks the same, and there's no visual differentiation between your toolbar, where you have the option to check your favorites, compose an entry, manage your diary, etc. and the entirely-too-long list of diary entry previews.
It looks like it's trying to be a little tumblr-esque, but without the features that allow for the site to be truly modular, like a real good search, tagging, etc. A page style like this might have its uses, but IMO not as Bloop's landing page. A page like this would be great if you're going through a hashtag, or to have as your favorites, with an easy way to fully read an entry and interact with it (comment/like/etc) right on the page, without navigating to the diary itself. |

I do like the "entry blurbs", though not that you have to scroll down to see them. You should fix the HTML on the description of the site. I dunno, it just feels more like a banner. Actually, #hashtags or tags in general are a good idea. With a box that says whats most talked about at the moment. Color wise, it's quite bleh, but I do like the page seems more "adult" if you know what I mean. Come up with a new logo for the site... not the sunglasses guy.

I actually agree with Ethan here about the colors as well. I was right down the middle on it, liking the more "adult"/modern feel of it, but also felt the grey was a bit drab and overwhelming the page.
Mark - how do you feel about a light and dark mode? |
HTML description? Not sure that I know what you mean by that?
Hashtags and tagging is going to be added, it's on my list :) |

oh, I meant, the "Welcome to Bloopdiary" thing. I don't know, it just looks funny to me.

I like this layout better than the original, bulletin board style. I see that HTML is fully disallowed. Is there a way to whitelist certain HTML elements, like simple URLs?
|
Yes, there will be some things that make its way through to the main-page.
Some do already - but I will be extending this. URLs might make it, but it might also be a white-listed set of domain names. Either that, or each link will have to be checked for integrity before the link goes live - unsure of which will be chosen at this point. |

nice! You should make the title of the entry blub bold. Maybe bigger?
ie. What a day!Ethan James |

< font color=purple> oh, yay! HTML is supported here.
lets see: italic things maybe And have an edit button on the forum replies. I would've added that in my top one. ;P Do you want to have a strong border around the entry blurbs? Just a thought. I have the kids to bed and am trying to wind down a bit. |
