I'm thinking about going back to school soon. The only possible way I can is to take online classes. Anyone have any suggestions for online colleges???

Most colleges around here offer online classes for most majors.
Check the websites for colleges near you. :)

The problem with online colleges is that a lot of them aren't credited, so if you ever need to transfer credits... well, you can't.

And you just have to do research. University of Phoenix is accredited.

Right. Accredited. >.>

I really don't know too much about online universities. I know DeVry isn't accredited.

I would suggest contacting your local college then go through them for online classes.

Nope. Its University. That's where Josh is going.

I have to say, I'd always been open about it, and always thought, why wouldn't it be just as good?

So far, I'm not impressed. I had about the same workload as he does when I was in the 3rd grade. But, he DID just start a few weeks ago, so we'll see.

Nothing is better than attending a University in person. I took an online psych course and it was stupid. I learned so much more from the classes where I attended lectures and stuff.

see, i'm different. i feel "slowed down" by others in the actual classroom setting. i can't stand others asking dumb questions, or reading out of the book. i would much rather do it on my own time, not to mention that with online classes, you can focus more on your own personal needs and what YOU need to study.

weird. I learned the most by having discussions during class about the material we read for that day or whatnot. Of course there are idiots who make dumb points and ask dumb questions, but it's so fun to mock them and point out how stupid they are DURING discussion when you state WHY they're wrong. MUHahahahahaha. I know. I'm evil.

But there's no-one to explain things to you if you don't understand a concept.

that's not necessarily true. I took online courses in high school because my school didn't offer very many advanced classes and the teachers were always really easy to contact via email. it's not really any different than attending a college in person as far as asking questions goes. Some teachers will even get on messengers and have live chats with you or even phone calls. It all depends on the professor.

I've taken online classes, live classes, and classes via webcam. I never had a problem with any of them. I think online college is a great way for working adults to obtain a degree.

Ahh see I'm doing an OU course and there's a really active Facebook community which helps. Plus you are given your tutor's phone number and email if you ever get stuck!

It's definitely a question of personal preference though.
