"A new study shows that losing weight can boost testosterone levels in men and improve their sex lives. Need any more motivation to shed those extra pounds?
Severe obesity has been linked to lower sperm counts and infertility in guys. This new study, conducted at the University of Utah, now shows that obesity is also biologically linked to an unsatisfying sex life. The study followed 64 severely obese men in their late 40s. Some men in the study had gastric bypass surgery to lose weight, while others used diet to reduce the pounds. No matter how they did it, the men who lost weight registered increases in total and free testosterone levels, and reductions in the estrogen hormone estradiol. The researchers also quizzed the participants on the quality of their sex lives before the weight loss and after. The men consistently reported better sex lives and better sexual performance two years after the weight loss. “We know that weight loss, no matter how it is achieved, improves overall health,” says study researcher Ahmad Hammoud, MD, of the University of Utah. “Now we see a direct relationship between weight loss, testosterone levels, and sexual performance.” So now you have yet another incentive to lose that weight: a better sex life!" http://www.thirdage.com/sexual-health/lose-weight-have-better-sex Have you lost weight and found you were better in bed? Or have you put on weight and discovered it suddenly got better for you? :-o |

It's also been said that in fat men, every 30 lbs of weight loss equates to an extra half-inch of dick.
Although, if I lost any more weight, I'd impale the bitch... |

I don't know if its from experience of from putting on weight after having kids but it seems since I've gotten heavier that I get off easier. I'm trying to lose weight though so if we have another post like this when I hopefully get skinny again then maybe I can answer this.

I have read an article before that women on the average to slightly bigger size have better sex than skinny girls.
Of course, this study is regarding men. It also followed 'severely obese' men, not just men with a beer belly. |

What, on average sized girls? When I said that, I didn't mean obese girls.

I know, but thats what happens, weight above your foo pushes down on it, obviously the bigger someone is the more it pushes, until with really really fat people it turns inside out! Now, thats bad sex!

Either you're just trying to be funny, or you don't know anything about fat girl fannies.

Its a pretty simply concept, if a girl has say a 5kg weight placed on her lower abdomen, it will push down on that area, if a woman has 5kg weight in her abdomen naturally, it is going to push down. The same concept as large breasts pressing down on the rib cage.

Just as I thought. It was the latter of the two.

As a woman who has been both thin and overweight, I can tell you that is NOT the reason behind why heavier women would have better sex than thinner women.
|
Acid Fairy Post Count: 1849 |
Have you found the reason behind it?
|

For myself, yes. Though I can't say it would be the same for all other overweight women, since every woman has different issues. I have overweight friends who have had completely different experiences than I have. For myself, I actually have better self esteem than I did when I was thin, and self esteem does affect your enjoyment of sex. In general, thinner women tend to be more concerned with having fully naked sex with a man because she is worried about what he'll think of those parts of her body she finds unattractive or fat (even if she isn't in the slightest). But heavy women? We've gotten past that (well, ok, SOME have gotten past it). You can tell just by looking at us fully clothed that we're heavy and you can see even fully clothed that we have not-so-attractive parts...it's never a secret, so if he's going to have sex with us knowing how heavy we are WITH clothing on, why would it matter to him what we look like WITHOUT the clothing on? With that knowledge, it releases us from our inhibitions we have because of our bodies.

That's really cool reasoning.
I believe a lot in self esteem affecting your sex life, and relationships in general. I don't have the perfect body and of course there are things I'd love to change, but I have a lot of confidence in myself and DAMN, I have good sex ;D |

A lot of it has to do, too, with how you perceive your man feels about your body. If you have any slight feeling that he may be unattracted to some part of your body that isn't perfect, you're going to be thinking more about hiding that part from him than you are about enjoying yourself with the sex. If you have the confidence that your man loves every inch of your body, no matter how imperfect, you're not going to be mentally distracted in any way to the pleasures of what he's doing to you. ;-)

So true. When you're feeling hot about your body, sex is sooo much hotter ;)

I still find it quite hard to believe. You would surely have to be SUPER effing fat for it to have any effect.
Surely they'd get off more if the bloke was heavier? That's the same concept, although with a bloke it would be using force, whereas if it were just fat it wouldn't have much force, just gravity. |

Right that's true. I'm wondering how it will be when I get the weight off how it will be. I'm sure hubby and I will practice enough to get it figured out again.
