Anyone taking a vaca this year? Where are you going to?


I'm spending a week at a cottage in Nags Head, NC. Its not very far away... but its still a vacation.. no work!! I'm going the last week in August, and I cant wait!

Next week, I'm going to Connecticut to visit family & go to my cousin's wedding [but it's going to be held in Massachusetts -- we're only going there for the day, & then spending the rest of the week in Connecticut] I can't wait. I haven't seen my family in over a year.

I've had mine. I don't have much money at the moment, so I just went to the Isle of Skye in Scotland with my friends for a week.

I tend to go away outwith the popular season anyway, when flights are cheaper. So may go away to somewhere in Europe in October.

My husband and I are going to Savannah, GA July 23rd-27th for a little four night getaway for our one year wedding anniversary (July 26, 2008). Like you, it isn't far from home, but it's a vacation! We went to Savannah on our honeymoon and are staying in the exact same room this year as we did last :).

I'm going to Savannah, too! That's the plan anyways, somewhere around the 17th of July.

I live about 10 minutes from Atlanta.

Oh, so you're about an hour closer to Savannah than I am :P. I'm about an hour and ten or fifteen minutes from Atlanta!

Me and a few friends are most likely going to Turkey. I have been 3 times before and it is my favourite country so far. Also, it doesn't have the Euro so we won't need like a grand in spending money! The place I want to go back to is a mountain town, about 10 mins from the beach. It's pretty quiet in the day but gets lively at night.

We will book a last minute holiday off the internet because you can get some amazing deals. Also, I am cheap ;D We have always booked last minute; I remember a few years ago we (me and my parents) booked it at 3pm and flew at 8pm! Haha so you have to have your bags packed and be ready to go, and then just sit on the net, having a look. It's so exciting and just works for us!

Oh, and we will most likely go for 2 weeks because I refuse to pay hundreds of pounds and then try and get everything done in 7 days.

I suppose what I meant to ask (pardon, I've had a few drinks) is, what website did you use to book your flight?

Gosh, no idea. My dad does it all haha. I think he just googles 'cheap package holidays' or 'last minute holidays' and goes from there.

WOW that's awesome, do they have deals like that from the States, too? I will have to remember that next time I am looking to go to Turkey XD

i already went on mine! We went to Disneyland, and Vegas!

My best friend is coming to town in August and stealing me away for a week. We're going to Penticton, BC (an hour's drive from my place) and spending the week in her mom's friend's vacation home (no, really). And then we get to celebrating both our birthdays, which fall on the 24th and 30th of August. Oh, it's gonna be fun. :D

Hopefully the only "vacation" we take is to a new state we move to this summer :)

I'm going to Pittsburgh to visit my family. I hardly consider it a vacation because I'm not a fan of Pennsylvania, but at least I won't be working (yet still getting paid). I do miss my parents and stuff though.

North Tampa... about an hour's drive. Kissimmee is a bit random (vs. Orlando), going to hit up the theme parks?

We've been to Orlando three times before, so we've rented a villa in Kissimmee this time. It's very nice! ;D And yeah, we're hitting up the theme parks! Just got back from Busch Gardens, so we were in your neck of the woods!
