BRUSSELS (Reuters) - A Belgian teenager has told police how she emerged from a tattoo parlor with 56 stars over one side of her face, rather than the three she had asked for, prosecutors said on Tuesday.

"I said this part, the top, is ok, but not the rest," Kimberley Vlaeminck from the city of Kortrijk, 90 km (56 miles) northwest of Brussels, told Belgian broadcaster VRT.

The 18-year-old said she fell asleep during the procedure, and woke up in pain when her nose was being tattooed.

A spokesman for Kortrijk prosecutors' office said police were investigating after a complaint from the teenager.

The tattoo artist said Vlaeminck had agreed to 56 stars.

"She agreed, but when her father saw it, the trouble started," Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws quoted the man as saying.

Vlaeminck said she wanted to keep the tattoos on her forehead but would have the rest removed.

Oh please like she did not know she was getting more then the few she asked for, especially on the face because there is not so much fat under the tissue on the face it is painful. I say that is bullshit a load of crap. I think she wanted it and then when she did it realized that maybe this was not the best of ideas. Instead of he said she said something should be put in writing and a signature should be required so that the tattoo artist is not held responsible for what happens if the person does fall asleep, which again I will say is bullshit.

The whole thing seems a bit strange. The tattoo artist claims the girl didn't fall asleep at any time during the tattoo process, he says he also has a witness who saw the girl get up to look at the tattoo several times and she quite liked it.

Apparently everyone in her family has a tattoo - thats why her dad wanted to pay for it? He was outside eating ice-cream or something while she was getting it done. I think, she wanted that design, she picked it out, daddy came in once it was done and freaked out, shit hit the fan and now girly is claiming she's innocent and it's all the tattooist fault.

Why would anyone get a tattoo on their face anyway? I find it hard to believe that she passed out while getting tattooed. Some places don't hurt, but it had to hurt on your face! I think she only said that because her dad flipped out, haha.

Either way this girl was obviously too immature to even think about getting a tattoo. I mean c'mon. Unless you're a high pain freak then there's now way you're going to fall asleep while someone is TATTOOING YOUR FACE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hell I almost screamed at my tattoo artist when she was doing the little one on my wrist. I would imagine your face would be even more sensitive.

What side did you get yours? The one on my wrist didn't hurt much, but I got it on the top. Now, the one on my foot was a BITCH. Vines and flowers cover my foot with a very pretty design, actually. - not like my entire foot is covered with ink, but the design was long and wide.
