You see, I've heard about the children that age dramatically but never this. The Fountain of Youth has nothing on her. :/ |

I wish they had an edit post. /complaining about that for the enth time. ;D
Here's a fairly friendly link about the situation so far: http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/discoblog/2009/06/23/doctors-stumped-by-16-year-old-with-toddlers-body-brain/ |

Eh, the link worked for me ;).
I can't imagine... having a baby that you expect to grow, and then 16 years later you still have a 3 year old! |

I read about this a few days ago. It's fascinating. They are sequencing her DNA already to see what genes are controlling it, as they have never been able to pinpoint what controls aging. From a science standpoint this is so major.

I couldn't imagine having a child that is genetically "stuck" as it seems she is. :/ Of course having a child with any sort of wavering from what is normal it's difficult I'm betting, but I've never SEEN a person that hasn't aged. o_o
And unfortunately I have to rely on the internet. News doesn't get turned on that often in this house. ;D So yes, may have been a little redundant but I found it share-worthy. |

i wouldnt say shes not aging, more that shes not growing and maturing, im sure her organs and bones have aged and she will probably die early, in her 30s or 40s. i think it would only be amazing if she could talk and experience life beyond a toddlers abilities.
