Mainly on the verizon wireless network.
Does internet come bundled in with your plan or do you have to add it on extra? Is yahoo messenger instantly installed on there do must you download that? Are you able to bloop on the blackberries? I mean fully bloop like comment and view and all of that jazz. |

I added the unlimited data plan on the Verizon network. It's extra. I don't have yahoo messenger on my phone, but you can download it. But I DO regularly use the Blackberry Messenger. ;) I can bloop on my blackberry, it just takes me forever to write a meaningful comment, and that seems to piss some people off. Whatever. But you can see, read, comment, etc. on your phone. It just doesn't look exactly like the bloop page because of the screen size.

I get charged for using Blackberry messenger. It charges me 17p per message, which is pointless when I get something like 500 free text messages (messenger messages are apparently not included as texts). I do use msn messenger on my Blackberry though. Because it is included in my monthly fee for unlimited internet access.

Really? Because I have the unlimited data, it's free. I don't have unlimited text which is why I like it. Most of my close friends also have BB so we usually use that to communicate. (my husband would say too often)

Check your phonebill. On my itemised bill each Blackberry messager message shows up as a 'text', but unlike my usual texts which are free, I'm charged 17p for each one.
Or your contract could just be different to mine. |

Yeah, I have. I was so scared I was going to get an outrageous bill if I used it. I even googled it before I would message anyone. haha I wonder if it just varies from carrier to carrier? I think if I was charged per message I'd be in BIG trouble.

Gees you totally shouldn't get charged for Blackberry messenger. It should be free to anyone in the world. It's a blackberry thing not a network thing.

With my blackberry on Verizon, I was told that "blackberry Email and Data" is mandatory if you have a blackberry, regardless of weather or not your plan has unlimited data. It's $30 a month, per blackberry. You have to have it if you have the blackberry activated on the plan. You can obviously drop it if you activate a non-blackberry on the line.
My phone had the yahoo messenger icon in the Instant Messaging folder. Clicked it, clicked download on it, and it was installed in less than a minute. Same with MSN/AIM. And I bloop on my blackberry all the time ;D It's a little annoying cuz there isn't a bloop mobile, but you can do what you need to. :) |

oh and the blackberry email and data isn't part of the plan. It's a feature that you like, add on. Like additional texting or something like that. It's not part of a plan :)

The big thing is my boyfriend will still have his stupid razr. The lady at verizon told me I could get an alltel blackberry plan til Kevin wants to upgrade his phone. I just hope she was telling the truth cause the verizon blackberry plans are expensive! And if I'm getting a blackberry then I'm getting internet on it.

im glad mines not all that expensive.
I get 500mb of data included in my plan, with 300 daytime min, nationwide, talk and text fab 5, unlimited received texts, 100 sent, caller ID, voice mail, all for 35 dollars a month. but i am with bell mobility. |

I don't get why your boyfriend needs a blackberry... that would just make your plan more expensive.
My dad and I have blackberries. and It's $30 PER phone. So it's an extra $60 a month just for us to have them. My brother has the LG Versa, on the same plan. You can get any plan you want, and you add on the blackberry email/data. There's no such thing as a blackberry plan. |

He doesn't. I'm the one getting a blackberry. He just wants something simple to take pictures, make calls, and text.

I'm confused. How is him having a razr a "big thing"?
|

I guess I should have said the big thing is the account is in his name. Lol. Sorry for the confusion. I'm sick of the razrs and trying to get him to move onto verizon.

I pay £5 per month (on top of my phone plan) for unlimited internet use on my Blackberry.
MSN messenger was already on mine, but Yahoo wasn't. I'm sure you could download it though. And I quite regularly Bloop on mine... write entries, read, comment, I even comment in the forums. The only Bloop feature I don't think you can do on it is chat. |
