1) What book are you reading right now? 2) Would you recommend it, and if so why? 3) Can you recommend anything else you've read recently? Thanx guys =) |

1.) Right now I am reading Tickling the English by Dara O'briain, Anna Karnenina by Tolstoy, and The Empire of the Great Mughals by some historian of Asia, yo!

Ooh I'm considering getting Dara's book; I love that man! And I have read quite a few books on the English so it sounds quite up my street.

The last really good book I read was Company of Liars. It's about a band of people in the 1400s in England trying to escape the plague. It's a brilliant, brilliant book. All the characters are so fascinating with stories of their own. It's pretty funny too. I can't recommend it enough!
I also love The Beach. It's really well written and a lot better than the film (which I really liked anyway). |

- wicked, cunt & Same Sex in the City: (So Your Prince Charming Is Really a Cinderella) 2) Would you recommend it, and if so why? -wicked seems dry to me, i keep putting it down in favor of something else. - cunt is absolutely awesome. its the one book i've read more than once. -Same Sex in the City: (So Your Prince Charming Is Really a Cinderella) is good, of you're a lesbian. =P 3) Can you recommend anything else you've read recently? -if you like chick lit fluff, Plain Truth, Change of heart, second glance, nineteen minutes, my sisters keeper all by jodi picoult -Middlesex. - 13 women. - ten thousand roses. |

1.) Going Bovine
2.) I dunno I love Libba Bray but this book is quite on the confusing side. 3.) Depends what you like. I have been reading a lot of YA books because I have a college course on it. I have read The Sky Always Hear Me:And the Hills Don't Mind lately which is good but if you don't like swearing or have something against LGBT stuff then don't read it. Otherwise I absolutely love all John Green's books. |

1.)7th Harry Potter Book
2.) Yeah if you are into this kind of genre of books then go for it. Trust me the books are better then the movies *though I think the movies rock too* 2.)J.D. Robb (aka Nora Roberts) Mystery series about Eve Dallas Homicide Cop in the future. She's remembering who she was before she was 8 years old all while fighting to bring the victims killer(s) to justice, protecting her reputation as a good cop & her marriage to the richest man in New York City (Titles are like: Vengeance in Death; Holiday in Death *I call it the "In Death Books"*) There are about 20+ books. I've read about 15 of them I believe. I can get you all the titles if you are interested. |

They are the best. I didn't even start with the first book. I started with Rapture in Death. One of my co-workers had given me her book after she read it & since then I've been buying as many of the books as I can LOL. I have the most recent book & the first 14.

1. The Time Travelers Wife
2. Yes it is good but confusing. 3. The last book I read was My Sister's Keeper. |

I heard that "The Time Travelers Wife" is confusing and hard to get into at first. 3 of my friends told me I wouldn't like it, haha. They know me too well since I can't get into a book if it's confusing. Although, the last book I read was like pulling teeth. Once I passed the first part it was one of those books I couldn't put down.

I've tried to read it and I got quite far in, but it just couldn't hold my attention.

1) Right now I am reading a book called "In the Woods" by Tana French
2) Well, so far I'm only at chapter 5. It's pretty good at only 5 chapters. It's about these group of kids who went into the woods and only one of them came back. His pants, shoes, and socks were blood filled. 20 years later, he is a Detective. A case comes along where workers found a couple of kids dead at the same woods where something happened to him and his friends. He has no idea what happened, he just woke up and found himself in a tree. So the book is about him finding out the truth to what happened 20 years ago. If you like mystery/thrillers, then you will like this. I like it so far. 3) I finshed a book called "A Dirty Job" by Christopher Moore. I really liked it. It's kind of like a sci fi/fantasy and it has humor too. I thought it was funny. The first part of the book is hard to get through, but once you get passed that it makes sense and everything comes together. The book is about a man named Charlie Ashner. He had the perfect life. He was married to woman named Rachel and they were expecting their first child. Well, Rachel dies suddenly and that is when Charlie's life changes. He starts to see things that no one see. He then becomes a death merchant and has to retrieve souls from belongings of the deceased people. As you get more into the book, it gets really good. I can't mention anything else or it gives things away. Put it this way, Charlie's daughter is special, she has a gift. It is a funny book too. |

Oh I started reading A Dirty Job... never finished it (it was a library book) but seemed pretty good.

You should finish it. The first part is kinda dry and boring, but it is the second and third part that really gets good. The ending made me kind of sad but laugh at the same time.

V.C. Andrews is pretty good too. I read a lot of them. They can be kind of teenish, but only a few are like that. A few I enjoyed were:
- Flowers in the Attic - Broken Wings (part 1) - Midnight Flight (part 2) I really enjoyed those. Her other books are pretty good. I only encountered a few that I thought were boring. |
Acid Fairy Post Count: 1849 |
Ooh we seem to have similar taste lol. I used to love her books, but as a teenager I preferred 'The New Virginia Andrews' which was a ghost writer who was meant to write in her style. I found them a bit more absorbing. I especially liked the Orphans series, but they are aimed at like 14 year olds.

I read the Orphans series. I liked it too. It is for young teens, but still soooo good. One of the girls stories, I think it was Raven (?????) I don't remember, but hers disturbed me. The whole step father thing, ew!

Oh, VC Andrews! Haven't read those in forever! I used to love those... my friend pretty much had all of them.
The Flowers in the Attic series was good... I liked "Melody" and that series... |

Oh God yeah! It was like proper sexual abuse! good story though.

I enjoyed Handmaid's Tale too. At first I thought I would hate it since it was one of those books we had to read for English class in high school. I was wrong! It turned out to be really good. The movie sucked, don't watch it until you read the book first. Same goes for Flowers in the Attic.

A couple of book series I really enjoy are the "Prey" series by John Sanford and the "Womens Murder Club" series by James Patterson. Both are quite obvious murder mystery books, but they are both very good authors and I haven't found one book in either series that I DON'T enjoy!
