I didn't say that actually. I said in the UK (not just in England, seeing as I live in Scotland!). Please get your geographical terms correct! It really annoys me when English people say 'England' when they mean Britain or UK. They are not the same, and you're adding to the confusion of the poor Americans who think they are.

I think you make an extremely good point with your last paragraph there. Most people in the developed world these days have never watched a child die from measles... and perhaps that makes it easier for them to just not think about the consequences of the risk they're taking.
