I hear a lot of people say he isn't any good. I've never listened to him personally.

Who? Conan? I just started watching him and I find him hilarious tbh. Leno not so much. I've always loved Letterman so duh there, but not a lot of Conan and I've found that he was worth the hype: he is funny.

It's not just that I don't understand why anyone would rather watch Leno. I just don't understand why anyone would want to watch Leno at all. I don't think I've ever made through a full show. I don't find him funny at all.

Isn't it just depressing that he can't host for 7 months?
Although I did hear he got $43 million, $13 of which went to his staff, as a settlement...So maybe it's not so depressing. |

I loved that he fought for a settlement for his staff, which makes me very happy. Leno's just a dick.
As for the money, I mean, well, yeah it's a shitload of money but it was in his contract so NBC should honor it. Do I think it's an INSANE amount of cash? Oh hell yeah. But I think Conan would've made more money if he'd gone to the 12.05 time slot and stayed on in the long run; he just wasn't willing to do that. So while $30-$40 million is hella lot, I do think he would've made more if he'd done what NBC wanted him to do. |

Yeah but it's not like he's desperate for the money so why should he have to give in to a time change because Leno's ratings suck. They suck because he's not funny, not because of what time his show is on. Or maybe that's just my Leno hatred coming out.

xD S'ok, I don't mind, I don't like Leno either. It was just a stupid ass idea all around to put Leno in prime time. The studio execs finally saw it, just 7 months too late. >____

I don't understand how Leno is the asshole in all of this. It's not Leno's fault that Conan's show is done, it's Conan's fault his show is done.
Jay Leno said he would give Conan a shot at having the late show and he would retire IF his (Leno) show slipped in the ratings when the time came. Leno remained #1 when that time came and he did not want to retire. So instead NBC made him move to prime time (even though his show remained #1 until it moved to an earlier slot). Even though Leno didn't want to move to prime time, he was a nice guy and moved his show so that Conan could have a chance. Conan couldn't prove himself and his ratings slipped. NBC just realized the horrible mistake they made by moving Leno. Therefore, Conan's show gets cancelled because he doesn't want to move the time slot and because his ratings weren't as good. It's not Jay Leno's fault that Conan's show got low ratings. |

while I have grown to like "Coco", (it took me a long time) the thing I dont understand is people act as if he has either literaly been killed or they will never again see him on TV. In his final agreement with NBC, he becomes available to other networks in Sept - just in time for the new season of 2010. If you honestly think he's gone for good, you need to have your head checked. So he won't be back on NBC, doesnt mean he won't go to another network.
I will say it was very telling of his true nature, that he didn't settle the final contract agreement without making sure his entire staff was taken care off. And that he wasnt filling to damage Jimmy Fallons ratings by pushing his show back. It takes a man to stand up for himself - a hero to stand up for others. |
