Well, being that you're so "popular" on Bloop and not in a positive way, why don't you go somewhere else like LJ, or OD? And NOT identify yourself, that way people will keep their comments to themselves.

I don't mind the shit talking, not at all. I only ask to also include some sort of topic with your shit talking

Well, currently, there are over 3,000 accounts in the system... but yes, that is a decrease from the original 6,000. xD

I honestly didn't check.
How many different ISP's sigh into bloop in a month? I'm going with 100 but that is a guess, since i haven't been around at all. but there's no way bloop has 3,000 actual members, it just doesn't. how many accounts do you have? get the picture. of course you do, this has been brought up countless of times. look, bloop not to long ago lost quite a lot of members, with the copying of the website and clashes on paying for it, etc etc. bloop mod power gone to some heads, bla bla whatever. lol a website such as bloop, is a personal website. the website as a whole reflects on the bloop community individually. Bloop has a habit of chasing people away. It's numbers reflect this. The suggestion is to reflect on why, and how can you as an individual that makes up a part of the community whole, change that. From what I gather it's been rather boring around here. what do you feel is missing from the website, and what do you think could attract more members? |

True, I have access to many more diaries than the average Blooper, but the vast majority of Bloopers only access one diary. I'd say the number of Blooping people is closer to 1,500. And of those, probably 500 at most are relatively active (like, access their diary at least once a week).
The main thing I noticed affecting numbers were the crashes. After the first crash, many of my favourites left and never returned. After the second crash, fewer people left (probably because the remaining Bloopers from the first crash were more willing to stick with Bloop - rain, hail or shine). I actually think controversy attracts people - no one wants a boring, dull site. xD But sometimes the drama can get tiresome after a while, so maybe people go on a Bloop hiatus for a few days, and occasionally people delete their accounts, but most of those accounts come back again. xD I really enjoy Bloop when people discuss and argue about real things, and are smart about it (and I even enjoy it when people get passionate and emotional and angry about what they're saying - it's entertaining!). But I DON'T enjoy when the drama descends into stupid pointless things like namecalling and OMG YOU SPELT THIS WRONG YOU FAIL AND YOUR ARGUMENT IS NULL AND VOID and the forum topic extends for 928393 pages. It's still kinda funny, but gets old real fast. As for what I feel is missing, I think Bloop just needs to be... bigger. There needs to be more of an incentive to join. It needs to get out there and offer something unique. And it kinda does that already - I don't know of many other sites quite like Bloop (there's LJ, Facebook, and Myspace, which are different from each other again). Am I right in saying that Bloop is the biggest site of its kind out there? (I wouldn't know, I'm actually asking. xD) But the problem is that there's not enough awareness of it. Like... it needs promotion. (I just typed 'online diary site' into Google and Bloop was the 13th item on the list.) I'm not sure how one would implement that though. I'm on Bloop like ALL the time (seriously xD) and, like you, would love to watch it grow and flourish and become bigger and better. And I'd also like to help do that. It'd be fun. =D |

500 is a good start. but not an ending, lol
We're definitely on the same page when it comes to the pointless arguing over nonsense :) You hit the nail on the head. bloop needs to be promoted. hmmmm How about if a system whereas for each new member you get to join, you get credits towards bloop extra and i cant think of any website that i personally like better than bloop, when it comes to layouts, look, the whole set up. It's perfect for blogging. I think having diary in the name is to gurly, kiddie. I'd rather see bloopblogs or something like that. a diary to me is something private, something only to be seen by suspicious lovers, no no i mean looked at and examined if you become a serial killer, no not that. I mean should only be examined by your grandchildren when you pass away. or the FBI lol banner context for bloop promotions anyone? I've ;earn some new banner tricks that will blow you away. a small example is on my front page. I can make those into any size. amnd i can put anything in them, with absolutely no limit, i can put a whole movie in a banner gif if i want to ;) |

There is no way there are 3,000 ACTIVE users. Maybe 200 at best. Most of those diaries just go to waste and are never used after they sign up. Bloop IS a little slow, and not as active as it used to be. :P Which is a shame...

Yes, I said 3,000 accounts, not active users. xD

Yeah, I was just staying the obvious though. ;D lol

Haha, you are right though. Bloop has become soooo much slower than in the past. I used to get over 100 comments whenever I'd post a layout, and now I'm lucky to get 30. The forums are quite active though, probably because the same 10 people frequent them all the time. xD

Not slow in terms of pages loading, but slow in terms of people passing through. Comparatively speaking, if one thinks of how it was, say, three or four years ago.

Some people who've been with bloop since near beginning have done what I've done and gone friend's only as some of us don't really care about being active around bloop as much as we care about having a diary. ^_^
|
foreverglow Post Count: 217 |
True. I know what you mean as I've been here since the beginning as well.
|
Estella Post Count: 1779 |
Haha - well, normally there are about 600 accounts accessed in a 24 hour period. A few people have more than one account, but I doubt each person has 3 accounts! So not quite as few as 200, but certainly a lot fewer than there used to be.

And I think that can really be attributed to the fact that back when Bloop started, things like Blogger and Tumblr weren't in existence, Facebook was just an idea, and Myspace blogs were shit (and still are).
With much more popular and mainstream places for people to keep blogs and diaries, it's really not surprising Bloop has shrunk. |

agreed it just seems pointless when someone does that i think someone did that a while ago... i dont think shes on here anymore but every time something bad happens on bloop she would del her diary then start again, but simliar name but different syombol by it, and same layouts same pictures and etc.

You can indeed say 'hi', yo! Via the 'converse' button! Although it's not so exciting the second time around, alas! The novelty wears off!
|
Tommy Decentralized Post Count: 506 |
It's rather sad that you look at people as some sort of novelty for your amusement. Especially when that person has so much information to share about the origins of your own beliefs.
|
Estella Post Count: 1779 |
Ha, Tommy, you've said yourself that you post stuff for shock value. That is a novelty factor. People don't get shocked after a while. Hence the novelty wears off. Do you not observe how Bloop works?
But always good to know you're such an expert on my beliefs, yo! If ever I get confused, I shall come to you for enlightenment! |
Tommy Decentralized Post Count: 506 |
You do understand that when something shocks you, it's associated with being new to you, or unexpected, etc
what may where off to you, and it's funny that you label people in boxes and think they're a this or that, and i know what that is, so i don't need them. doesn't where off for others, and may be shocking to others that are just begging to put pieces of the puzzle together. You will always be confused about your own beliefs, until you read the book by John Allegro- "The Sacred Mushroom and the Cross: A Study of the Nature and Origins of Christianity within the Fertility Cults of the Ancient Near East" |
Estella Post Count: 1779 |
Yes, yo - but you don't shock with information. You shock with trying to offend people, yo! By silly insults and such - and you know how easily Bloopers get shocked and offended by such things! Like, it serves as a barrier rather than a path to enlightenment. But we've had this convo before. It's going round in circles. You totally do have the stock set of responses that T.A.I. outlined. It's like talking to a Jehovah's Witness! The circular 'If you don't listen to me you are a narrow-minded ignoramus' approach isn't really very convincing, yo!

you really dont know me at all. why should you, you never were a regular reader, ever. You do not know me.
an example of how wrong you are about me, is our own recent conversations. whereas I tried several times to get you to talk about anything, other than your constant personal attacks stupid kids shit. YAWN seriously. if you do not have anything of value you say, just shut the hell up. topic: why do you think christianity has mushrooms in all of it's older churches? |
