Oh definitely! They're in denial about a ton of things. So, instead of admitting to themselves that just perhaps I'm a complex human being with emotions and the whole nine yards, they see me as a nerd, just like a high school student. It's pretty depressing, in a way. However, it also caused AWESOME friendships, so hey, win some, lose some, right? -_-

@Greta Garbage Because I believe that we do need to restore honor and faith and hope and charity to America. We've gotten so far from traditional values, it's upsetting. It is not just coincidence that we have been throwing away our traditional values (as a whole) in this country and now more Americans dislike America than ever before. I believe they go hand in hand. To restore America to it's place of greatness we must restore our values.

What honor have we lost? Are you talking about faith in our country or religious faith? I did not think we lost hope in America but maybe some have. Traditional values...hmm, I think those can be subjective. Your values are not going to be the same as mine (not all anyways). I do agree that we have strayed off the path to a better country but restoring some of these "traditional" values isn't going to make things better. We are just going around in circles. I don't know what it will take to fix this country. I just don't know, anymore.

Well i was going to comment on this thread, but Anon has pretty much covered just about everything I was gonna say anyway. So, thanks, Anon :D Also it just makes me giggle when Glenn Beck cries. He's so pompous it's just...you cant do anything but laugh at it. How anyone takes him seriously for ANYTHING that he says is just mind boggling to me.

Oh, and iWrite: There is a "separation of church and state" for a very good reason. No ONE religion has EVER been PROVEN correct, so for Glenn Beck to be claiming that God and traditional values need to be reinstated, but then also be in an outrage over the mosque they want to put next to ground zero, is just counter productive. If he wants to rally for God and traditional values, he needs to do it on the religious channel, not a news network.

All laws are based on somebody's values, and all values are based on somebody's morals. Morality finds root in religion whether you agree with a person's morality or not. Separation of church and state historically exists to protect the church (not vice versa).

I disagree. What mst be pointed out is that there is a Greek Orthodox church that was there before the towers fell, and the gov't officials are declining to let it be rebuilt while they push for the mosque. That is not religious freedom, that is the gov't officials picking and choosing one over the other (not to mention that one of them existed BEFORE the towers fell and the mosque didn't). It's not that they don't have the right to build there (if they buy the land), but it would be incredibly insensitive, especially when they have at least 100 other mosques in NY. Why choose the mosque over the GO church? What is the purpose of building one there as opposed to somewhere else?

While i disagree with values = morals = religion, you do make a very good point, separation of church and state was created to protect the church. As it stands today, it mainly still protects the church, but it is still considered a separation. I mean it BARELY exists today, but is still CONSIDERED a separation.

@ iWrite: I honestly did not know that there was a G.O. church there before, my bad entirely. But after reading your comment, and Anon's, i did go look it up. Anon wins in that category of debate.
