In order of having gotten them, starting with the oldest ... which I got the night before I turned 15 (Yes, I was young. Yes, my Mom took me, lol.)
At 18, graduation present to myself. Me and two friends got the same thing. Different places, different colors- At 19- Left Right And I just got these two in June - same day, 20 minutes apart- I really need new pics, because it looks a lot different. This was like...a few hours after it was done It says: "All that really belongs to us is time. Even he who has nothing has that." This will be a 3/4 sleeve when it's complete. This hurt like a bitch, no lie, principessa=princess in Italian- Hopefully they're not huge as hell, lol |

Oooo what's the rest of the sleeve gonna be? :)
|
.Amber. Post Count: 260 |
@nik - the rest of the sleeve is kind of undecided as a whole. But it's going to have a mechanical koi fish, that much I know.

@Amber that would be fucking badass. :) My bf is planning a sleeve; he's getting more of it worked on on Friday. He's got an angel on his arm rn and then on the underside of his arm he's getting a devil pinup. ^____^

I can't wait to get my done. Just got to save up my money to do it. I'm hoping it wont be more then a couple hundred. My sister drew it out for me. It's for my grandma. It's not huge but it ain't small either. I hate pain and needles so sitting for this {{especially during the color part}} is gonna suck ass but for all that she went through her last few years of life, it doesn't even compare.

For most ppl it's the lining that hurts the most. The coloring is actually a relief b/c instead of 1 needle going over the line over and over, it's multiple needles at the same time to give color. I wouldn't think that that would be INCREDIBLY expensive. It isn't tiny w/ massive amounts of detail or huge w/ massive amounts of detail so it shouldn't be incredibly expensive imo. I'd think like maybe $150-200?

Really? Sweet. Omg I have a huge fear of needles. I can't even watch other people get a shot or whatever. I can't even watch it on tv. Makes me cringe hella bad. That's what I was thinking, it's only gonna be like 8inchs tops height wise.

Where are you going to put it? I have a semi fear of needles so my 1st three I put on my back so I couldn't see them. This newest is on my ankle so I watched and it wasn't that bad! :)
But yeah my bf is gonna get a devil pinup on Friday and his at most is gonna be $200 (and probably about the same size as the one you want). A good artist will ask you how much you're willing to spend, be it 100 or 500 and most have a base price of $50. If yours is gonna be all colored in you'll eventually go numb. Like my others that're mostly color by the time she got into coloring, that part was numb. And w/ my Hello Kitty I couldn't wait for her to color in the pink part b/c I couldn't really feel it. Most of the lining that she did, I could and hurt like hell. But if yours is gonna be 8in. and mostly color you should be fine. :) It's def something that once you feel it and feel like you can handle it, you'll get addicted. It's a diff. kind of pain but def. not the worse pain there is to feel, physically. :) And I speak this w/o having given birth to a child. XD |

it's going to be on my back on the ride side, slightly off my shoulder blade, at about a 45° angle so part of the forget-me-nots are going to land on the shoulder blade.
Nice. Yeah I've heard a lot about a parlor in San Jose called Marks of Art, my uncle with hella tattoos told me to go there, and a majority of family members got theirs done there as well, so I think I'm going to go there and every one said it shouldn't cost me more then $200. Mom told me she'd be shocked if it even reach $200. That's good. I wanted to have enough saved by Sept. 3 so I could get mine & pay for my Mom to get her ankle tat recolored for her birthday but with just $60 a week for chores I don't think I'll have enough, especially because $20 is being taken to help pay for the garage door I hit with the truck LOL. That's what my uncle said. There's one I drew myself that I may get for my youngest sister & there's one I want on my ankle but I'm still working on that one, and then I want a stanza of music on the inside of my left wrist. Oh yeah, my mom said her tats weren't as painful as the 36 1/2 hours of labor she was in to have me LOL |

Oh that shouldn't be too paid, pain wise. 2 of my tattoos are on my shoulders and 1 on my neck. Once you start getting them you start to realize where the needles will hurt more. Like I have 2 on my shoulder, 1 on the back of my neck, and 1 on my ankle. The one that hurt the most, hands down? On the neck. OMG. That spot was terrifying. Feet will def. hurt more, ankles more towards like the bones (mine is a bit more above the ankle bones), pretty much anywhere where there's little fat and a lot of bones/muscles. XD Supposedly tattoos on your ass hurt the least b/c it's all fat. XD
Yeah I loved the shop that I went to; it's got a lot of good word of mouth and the art that I've seen the guys do on facebook is just awesome. :) So that's a def. good thing if your family's all gotten stuff from there. ^.^ |

Yeah my moms got 3, uncle joe's got effin sleeves and some on his back and leg{{he's that stereotypical biker just bald now & cut down his beard}}, another uncle has two on his back, one on his shoulder and one on his calf. My dad doesn't have any, but my biological father got a rose on his shoulder w/my name{{why is beyond me cus he's never been there}}, and my aunts have some too. I have friends that have art from Marks too.
It's a bit of a drive, but worth it I think. The parlor in my current city does great work, but they are assholes. I went in there after I got my job because I wanted to ask them how much it would be, and no one even acknowledged me or my mom. I'm not trusting someone like that to stick a needle repeatedly into my back & I'm not gonna pay someone that acts like that. |

Yeah the shop I went to is a 20 min. drive but it's worth it. :) Better to pay a bit more and get better quality ink. :D
