It's your stuff. I'd try to get a storage place for as cheap as you can and go from there. You can call the cops and ask them to escort you to your mother's place to get your things. Just have a list ready to go, call them, and make sure you can go on a day when your mom is there.

I am very certain the laws reguarding "tenants" do NOT cover people just 'living' with roommates/parents. Here if a tenant and landlord share either a washroom or kitchen then the landlord has every right to kick the tenant out with no notice. I would rent storage asap or find a friend to store your things with. There is nothing to legally stop your parents from cleaning all your things out and tossing them.

I'm sorry your mom kicked you out. It's sad when a parent kicks out thier own child. I could never even think about doing that to my child.

it's okay, don't be sorry. i will be in a better environment. my mom is verbally abusive but i'm sad that our relationship has fallen apart. i think over time it will get better. we clash, a lot. i'm happy to hear you could never think about it. i wish i could change my mother's mind, i can't believe it either...

especially since out of three kids..i'm the only one she ever treated poorly.

My mum kicked me out when I was 16. I lost a lot of my possessions because of it, as she was throwing them out before I was even out the door. We have a relationship now, but its def not a proper mother/daughter one.

Best thing to do is thrive in the world you go in to... she'll probably be sitting there waiting for you to beg to come back... show her you can do it. It's quite a good feeling!

Yes, if she is abusive to you, you will be much happier living elsewhere, yo.

I'm pretty sure that even though you were living with your parents, you're supposed to have 30 days notice. At least I know it's like that around here...my fiance has had his mom threaten to throw him out several times, and he actually asked a cop, and it's illegal to throw him out without giving 30 days notice. And he would have every right to his things as well.

I hope you can get all your stuff. Find a friend with a pickup and hopefully you can fit it all in there, and hopefully wherever you are staying has room for it. I hate it when that happens :[ My dad did that to me. Luckily, they didn't throw any of my stuff out that I left there (I took most of it though) and eventually (after 3 months) my dad said he was sorry and asked me to come home. I think the best course of action is to call your local PD and ask what the guidelines are as to how long it is before your stuff becomes theirs.

i'm pretty sure if i don't get it all out and i choose to leave it there they will give my parents permission to do what they want with it. :[

Quick! Find a friend with a truck! Or if you have the extra cash I think short term UHaul trucks (the small ones) only cost like $20 for local moving in a day. Probably plus mileage, though.

to update everyone and you.. if they read this thread/care.. my parents [dad, basically] have allowed me one hour in their house while my sister and mother stay in my mothers room and my dad stays down the steps taking to my sister in law. [who took me in until i leave for my boyfriend's sister's house] i have to take everything - anything that is left behind is garbage to them, so they will throw it out. my sister in law is offering some of her shed space. my boyfriend is offering trunk space.

i'm happy about this except idk if one hour is enough time. [sigh] i hope they hold my mail until the day before i leave comes..

Will someone be able to help you? That might help with the time thing... 2 or 3 hands, better than none...
